It is a new hotel and a bit quirky in the decor and in an amazing position a short stroll from the castle the royal mile and restaurants… the staff also were amazing so helpful we had a 5.30am leave and they asked the night before if we would like a coffee to take in the taxi … we did and it was waiting for us

Super comfortable bed and modern bathroom in a gorgeous historic building. Lovely personal touch with a snacks goodie bag and available toiletries. I had forgotten my toothbrush so the convenience of being able to get one at the property was a bonus! Great view over rooftops to the ocean.

FAQs about hotels in Edinburgh

A Feast for the Senses

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.

The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

The architecture of the old town is beautiful and looks like unreal when viewed from the new town. We went during the fringe so there were many street performers and musicians to entertain us. We had very nice weather during our stay, only a small sprinkle of rain, mostly sunny

Edinburgh completely exceeded my expectations.

Edinburgh completely exceeded my expectations. It’s a beautiful, atmospheric city that feels both historic and vibrant at the same time. I loved wandering through its streets, discovering hidden corners, and enjoying the mix of nature and architecture everywhere. Arthur’s Seat was one of the highlights — the views from the top are absolutely breathtaking and worth every step of the climb. Calton Hill was another favourite, offering stunning panoramas of the city and a perfect spot to enjoy the sunset. I also really enjoyed Victoria Street, with its colourful buildings and lively atmosphere. The free walking tour of the Old Town was fantastic and helped me appreciate the city’s history even more. And visiting the Highlands was unforgettable — the landscapes are dramatic, peaceful, and truly unique. Overall, Edinburgh is a city I would happily return to. It’s welcoming, full of character, and packed with places that genuinely deserve a visit.

Edinburgh was very interesting from a historical perspective, as well as for the many arts offerings including live theater, museums, free Botanical Garden, and nearby walking trails. Plenty of choices of restaurants and shopping. 2-3 days stay just covered the basics.

Super friendly place , so much to see and do . It’s a place filled with wonderful tours , stories of the past , exciting bars and restaurants. I’d go just to eat in all the fab places and the cocktails are galore ! Also the cocktails are much cheaper than London , from £9 to £12 .

Hotel is very close to the Gyle Centre tram stop from where it’s easy to get to the city centre or the airport. Ticket machine at the stop. Budget friendly (£5 per 24 hours) car park option if you don’t want to pay more in the city centre or you just can’t be bothered to find a place to park in Edinburgh. 24/7 reception makes checking in and out very convenient. Room is compact and has everything you need from the budget stay: hot shower and comfortable bed. I would say it’s very comfortable for 1 adult and ok for 2 adults.

The Hotel is a wonderful resort for relaxing and family gathering. It has an amazing garden which we enjoyed so much. It is not close to City, but we reckoned it's the best place to stay in Edinburgh for holiday. It is only about 30mins drive to city centre. The room is spacious for a family of 4. It serves delicious breakfast till 11am, which allowed sleeping in a bit everyday. Their gym room was well-equipped. And the swimming pool was great. Their dinner was of high standard.

The hotel is very handy to get to from the Edinburgh by-pass and is in a quiet location but with good access to the city centre. It is a traditional Scottish ‘old school’ hotel which I really liked. The room was clean and comfortable, I only have a coffee but the buffet breakfast looked good and plentiful. The hotel bar was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It has it’s own small car park which is big plus.

We went to edinburgh for my birthday trip. Stayed in this hotel. When we reach hotel we were welcomed by lovely lady charlotte. She was so helpful and polite, making sure we had all information that we need. The place was nice and rooms were big enough. Food option for breakfast was good too. Definitely recommed this place. Not too far from city centre.
