I loved the bed and the large TV that connects to our phone and Netflix, without the hassle of having to log in or out. The Rooms vibe and design is truly fabulous. The shower has hot towels and plenty of fragrant body wash and shampoo available for guests. The reception area is also very stylish and elevated. The room is clean and cosy! Would definitely recommend!

FAQs about hotels in Edinburgh

A Feast for the Senses

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.

The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

I love the atmosphere.

I love the atmosphere. People are very friendly and genuinely helpful. It is fairly compact and easy to walk to most places I wanted to go. There are some very historic parts, but I was not there for the tourist places. The buses are excellent as well.

We absolutely fell in love with Edinburgh.

We absolutely fell in love with Edinburgh. The city is incredibly beautiful, with stunning architecture, charming streets, and so much history around every corner. Everywhere we went felt picture-perfect. The people of Scotland were some of the friendliest and most welcoming people we have met. Everyone was kind, helpful, and made us feel right at home. The food was fantastic as well. We made sure to try some of the traditional Scottish dishes, including haggis and Cullen skink soup, and they were absolutely delicious. It was a great way to experience the local culture and cuisine. Edinburgh has a wonderful atmosphere that is difficult to put into words. From the historic buildings to the friendly locals and amazing food, everything about the city exceeded our expectations. We would definitely return and can't wait to visit again. Edinburgh has truly captured our hearts.

We liked walking around Old Edinburgh as well as hitting the mall for a movie at the Everyman cinema and a good meal and dessert at the mall. Hiking Arthur's Seat was a lot of fun. The Scholar was a good location and the only issue I had there was the lack of ability to watch any netflix or streaming platform on their tv's. They should really think about changing this. Besides this it was a great place to stay and the staff were awesome. Thank you

Beautiful city.

Beautiful city. I spent a total of 6-7 days in Edinburgh all together. Places to eat are generally limited in size so difficult for ‘walk-in’ and booking in advance is also full and this is during off season. Often for quick lunch, I just stopped at Sainsbury’s Supermarket for a “trio” which was a good option. Usually consisting of sandwich, wrap or salad plus drink and sweet or savory snack. Another food option was the Edinburgh Street Food. The Hop-on-Hop-off bus tour was very interesting and convenient for travelling around the city. I took a 48-hour pass.

This was a return stay for us as we stayed in 2024. This is a fantastic hotel set in a secure area within walking distance of the city centre. 30 minutes gets you to the royal mile at a leisurely pace. The room was very comfortable and the staff went out of their way to get the room which would suit us best. We were in room 104 and thanks to the American lady in front desk for her assistance in choosing an airy room. The hotel also had passes for the nearby gym which was excellent. All in all a great stay.

The Royal Scots Club is situated in New town area, next to a beautiful park. It is within a very short walking distance from city centre and all main attractions, as well as close to the tram and bus to and from the airport, and yet it is situated in a really peaceful neighborhood. The hotel is lovely, a special place with history and character, not just a chain hotel. If you wish to add a little something extra to your stay in wonderful Edinburgh, this hotel is worth trying.

Everything was brilliant! The most important thing was the location. The hotel is right in the middle of the Edinburgh city centre; you can get to Princes Street in just a few steps, and it is a maximum 10-minute walk to the Old Town (Castle area). The staff were really helpful and friendly. A great shout-out to Thomas, Maria, and Kishore! Best regards,
