I loved the bed and the large TV that connects to our phone and Netflix, without the hassle of having to log in or out. The Rooms vibe and design is truly fabulous. The shower has hot towels and plenty of fragrant body wash and shampoo available for guests. The reception area is also very stylish and elevated. The room is clean and cosy! Would definitely recommend!

The location was well placed for us, and it was easy to jump on the main tram. I cannot emphasize this enough. We should have stayed more nights. For the same price as some central accomodations you get to sleep on a boat. Cleanliness was top notch, and everything on the ship was well put together and design wise spoke to each other. Staff was extremely friendly. The breakfast area is beautiful. The bathroom looks amazing. You will not see such tiling in real buildings.

FAQs about hotels in Edinburgh

A Feast for the Senses

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.

The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

Excellent bus service at the door.

Excellent bus service at the door. Decent restaurants nearby, also supermarket and pharmacy. Edinburgh is a wonderful walking city, or buy a day pass on the bus, or a week pass at The Hub on Shandwick Place.

Edinburgh is an amazing city, full of variety and history.

Edinburgh is an amazing city, full of variety and history. It is important to read up on it before going as there are so many things to see and do that you will have to be selective. There are several things to bear in mind. It is always very busy. In August it is extremely busy. The number of tourists affects the price you have to pay for rooms, it is expensive. It is also hilly. There is a good bus service but you need to be fit to get the most out of your visit. If you are interested in plants do visit the Royal Botanic Gardens. Entry is free (except to the recently restored Palm Houses). The best time to go is probably May, June and the start of July. You get the benefit of long daylight and it is less likely to rain.

Do not miss the Royal Yacht Britannia - great tour and great lunch in the tea room. Easy transport links with a tram link which starts at the airport and finishes in Newhaven via Princes Street. We ate at the Ivy on St Andrews Square - good food and friendly and helpful staff. Make a point of eating at El Castillo Mexican restaurant on the Pier at Newhaven. Large platter of fajitas and fixings, and super cheesecake for dessert and all at very reasonable prices

If you are going to the Edinburgh fringe festival there is so much to attend and more. We would pick one act to attend and then wing it to attend more. Such a great atmosphere for young and old. We also attended the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and it was awesome. Very cold that night so we were well rugged up. We had amazing weather during our stay and could have easily stayed longer to enjoy more sights and do more distant day trips. We travelled to Edinburgh by train from London which was a relaxed and scenic service.

Being in Edinburgh during the Fringe Festival and the Royal Military Tattoo made it a particularly special time. The city has so much to offer in the way of history, architecture and beauty. . Even with the population temporarily doubled, we felt relaxed and safe in the crowd that thronged the Royal Mile. People were polite and helpful. Warning: It's hard to find pubic bathrooms.

This historical city is beautiful.

This historical city is beautiful. So much to see and do and the history is supported by modern restaurants and great shopping. No matter how much we read about the amount of steps in this city we were still taken by surprise - so go slow and enjoy, Easy to use transit system for when you just can't take another step - tap on with any payment card and no tap off required.

A modern hotel conveniently placed in central Edinburgh. Castle and main tourist sites were all within an easy 15 minute walk. Room was well maintained and spacious, if a little bland. Hotel was very quiet. Large car park (£10 a day) is fairly priced and very convenient if driving into the city. Hotel was fairly priced for the city centre and well run. A good, safe, bet if choosing for a city break or business trip.

I had a very pleasant stay at Leonardo Edinburgh Murrayfield. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the bed was especially cozy after long days exploring the city. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was welcoming. I also appreciated the convenient location, with good transport links into the city centre.

Hotel was clean, and breakfast was delicious. We came for the royal Highland show, and the location of the hotel was close to the show ground, so didn't need to travel far to get too it. Also there is a 3 minute walk from the hotel to a tram stop, which is cheap and you can get straight on and into the city centre of Edinburgh in minutes
