Lawriestone is located overlooking a loch and we booked a loch view room. We had sunny weather on the 2 days we were there and we were able to watch evening sailing and some early morning loch swimmers with our morning tea . Jan is an excellent hostess and gave us suggestions on things to do in the area. The room was comfortable with 2 large armchairs , a good shower , tea and coffee and a large bed . Breakfast was excellent , fruit salad, cereals , toast, croissants ,boiled eggs, ham and usual tea ,coffee and jams ( and Marmite for those that love it ) . Easy parking and only 15 minutes walk to town .

Not even needed to say that everything was spotless clean. Hosts are welcoming, provided with all information needed and stayed in contact for our questions. We also liked the location. It is close enough to everything you need in the city center (five minutes by car), but has advantages of quiet neighborhood, that gives you an opportunity to rest well after a long day. Definitely recommend. We would stay again.

While it was by no means cheap as far as hostels go it was in a truly beautiful location and immaculately clean. We were two adults and a 17 yo and we slept very comfortably in a four bunk room. I was also surprised at how comfy the bunk beds were. We arrived late and were lucky enough to grab last call for dinner at the bar/restaurant just 1/4 mile south of the hostel. Again, location location location.

We had an amazing view of the Loch and despite being by the highway it was very quiet at night. We appreciated very much the continental breakfast, the best one we had during our holidays in Scotland. But the best of all was the host, she was always kind, helpful and smiling. We definately recommend the Lawriestone Guest House and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.ErnestoYoung couple
