stayed here as solo female traveler for 4 nights over New Year's eve in the 4-bed dorm and really loved it - super small family run hostel with only about 12 beds. There was a big shelf space in the dorm to put your backpack, curtains, a light in your bed, a fan, outlets, and small shelf. I didn't get to enjoy the (now) $15 USD pupusa classes at night or the NYE family dinner (my plans didn't align), but that means I will have to come back! Alex and his family were wonderful: so many QR codes for information such as where to eat, where to catch the buses from, what will be closed around the holidays, etc. My cousins visited from staying @ another hotel and they said the Casa Coco staff was more helpful and knowledgable than their own hotel!! There is a communal kitchen to use, with strong wifi and tons of places to sit, chill, relax. I love how there is a courtyard out back plus a terraza upstairs in front. After certain hours you must use your key to get in, which I appreciated the extra layer of security. We did the volcano hike & lago coatepeque from here with Hanssel, ~$23 USD pp, with transport included. The fee was basically to be our chaffeur all day which was cool because we ended up taking our time and didn't get home until 7pm! I would stay here again. You can also pay for your stay with credit card but there is a small fee added on.

The host was incredibly kind and accommodating. The room was decent for the price, and the home, especially the kitchen, had everything you might need. Beyond that, the host’s family went above and beyond by showing us around, taking us to lakes, several viewpoints, and even arranging a boat trip and jet ski ride to Lake Coatepeque near Santa Ana. They also took us to the Volcano restaurant with the yummiest food we had during our stay, all at a very fair price.

Nothing I was not able to stay. They were trying to sell me for more stating they don’t accept booking .com reservations and this is not that hostal etc. the outside they have an old sign stating Antigua. It’s all BS because a week ago I stayed in the same hostal casa luna now the are telling it’s another one. We manage both. Than I said based on my reservation just give me a room. Communication is worst. I wasted more than 1 hr than went to Ricky’s hostal just around the corner. I don’t trust this one at all
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Location was amazing, staff are just wonderful, Fernando and Alejandro went above and beyond always. great atmosphere, couldnt possibly be more central. Safe and secure entryway. Great hostal. Recommend.
Super nice host who gave great tips and helped us arrange things to do and our transportation. The location is a small walk from the city centre but we found a street with plenty of restaurants nearby.
Great location, very close to everything I needed. The staff were so helpful and kind and helped us a lot with the buses and trips. I realised I'd left my towel by accident at a precious hostel and the staff member even let me have a towel from lost property! There are lockers in the rooms and an individual fan for each bed.
The hostel exceeded our expectations, as it was better than on the pictures. First we were surprised by the big nice kitchen, with drinking water for the guests. The room was spacious, clean and surprisingly quiet for in the city. We loved the garden relax and read. Also the owner was all the time very friendly and helping with everything. Fast internet. And it was even possible to pay by card.
Absolutely loved this guesthouse. Perfect location, easy walk from main square, but still quiet. I slept very well. Although sometimes you can hear noises from next room, everybody is respectful here, no loud parties or conversations.
Luis is a wonderful host, he helped me with lots of advises and arranged a number of transfers.
Great breakfast as well.
Amazing, friendly, and welcoming hosts. Nice location in a quiet and safe neighbourhood. Good options close by for cheap local food. Spacious bedroom and big bathroom. Amazing home cooked breakfast included in the price. The stay was excellent value for money. Highly recommend for a stay in Santa Ana.
