We had an amazing stay at this hotel during our trip to Madeira! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile. The rooms and facilities were spotless, and the atmosphere was peaceful, perfect for relaxation. The location was also good—convenient and close to everything we needed. Highly recommend!

Attractively located in the Se district of Funchal, Hostel Monaco is located a 8-minute walk from Marina do Funchal, 8.4 miles from Girao Cape and 24 miles from Santana's Traditional Houses.

It was not just a room with 3 beds as we had been expecting; it was an apartment with a kitchen and everything you may need for a comfortable stay. The owner is very kind and will try to address all your requests, even in a very tough situation like we had during our stay there. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Located in Santa Cruz and within a 7-minute walk of Palmeiras Beach, Costa Lodge Funchal or Santa Cruz Airport, best price both, Shared Room features a private beach area, non-smoking rooms, and free...

Only positive thing is that the owner was friendly but charged extra "out of hours" check-in fee.

Located within a traditional and historical building in Funchal old town, Santa Maria Hostel is a boutique hostel featuring a vintage-style décor.

Highly recommend! The receptionist was truly lovely and very helpful!! Even though I was running late - with help from the staff and some arrangements I was able to get my keys and after all the check-in was smooth and easy. Location is really amazing, room and common spaces were clean and with a unique atmosphere - as a woman traveling alone I felt really safe there!!!

Located in Funchal, Lazareto 148 Hostel has a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and free WiFi throughout the property.

Everything was nice besides location if only walking to town. And when ever someone walks in hallway at night the light turns on in hallway shining through windows of room which can be annoying.

Modern & Recycled Guest House is located in Machico, within a 3-minute walk of Sao Roque Beach and 12 miles of Santana's Traditional Houses.

The location was private and quiet. The room was set up well and the shared kitchen and the way it was organized was brilliant. Ruben and Maria made us feel very welcome—and Ruben was able to give us some good advice and tips about hiking.

The hotel is in a great location, 5 min walking to the ocean and public beach, Lido promenade with incredible views. Bus 9 goes directly from/to the airport. Own pool with nice terrace with ocean view. Very good breakfast! Lots of shops and restaurants around. Safe box was for free.

I don’t even know where to begin… The accomodation was great, with a private kitchen and bathroom. Spacious, clean, good beds, quiet area. The outdoor patio was nice, with separate seating areas and a pool with loungers. It was a 20 minute steep down/up hill walk to the city centre, but with a bus stop next door. Overall great location. But what made it fantastic were the hosts. They were all I could want for my first solo vacation. A little chat here, a safety check there, really really awesome people. Definitely recommend staying here!!

Great little place, doesn’t have a vibe of a hostel so great for people who are on a budget but not so social, two owners are really nice and helpful, they keep the place very clean. Location is very central, few mins walk to everything you need. Great showers. Wifi was fine for working but did sometimes cut of for a minute (209.1 Mbps download, 10.9 Mbps upload), the annoying thing was that every floor has a different wifi network. I had unlimited data but there was barely any signal on the patio to be able to use it.

Great value for money with a parking space. Wouldn't really expect anything else for what we paid as it was just a base and we were rarely there. Washing machine is great for going back home with clean clothes. Beds were super comfy but do drift apart when pushed together as someone else also said. Clean bedding and towels. Great location and great host. Very helpful. Overall decent for anyone wanting a base and on a budget!

I had recently stayed 5 nights in 29 Madeira Hostel. It was a truly fantastic experience. First and foremost, the staff are exceptional, especially Andrea with her genuine willingness to assist with any inquiries or concerns. The dormitory rooms were clean, comfortable, well-maintained and the beds were cozy. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of cleanliness maintained throughout the hostel, including the shared bathrooms and common areas. Great location within walking distance of major attractions, restaurants, and public transportation.

Look i gotta be honest, it wasn't what I expected. The pics definitely are not updated and they are far different from reality, but it was cheap, really good location and besides, I met people I consider my friends for life. We were all surprised about the hostel and the way it looked but we finally made fun of the situation and it was really safe We met in the common area at nights we made together and overall I would say in terms of money, if I go to Madeira again I would stay there again no matter what

Very friendly staff! Great location central Funchal. They have coffee and tea included. Great experience in this hostel. It's clean and they are flexible with your check in time. Their transport shuttle is nice and cheaper than a taxi and the drivers are very polite.
