Beautiful beaches with lots of things to do (boating, jetskis, parasailing...) But the town gets very busy in late July/early August. It draws tourists from everywhere and it's obvious. Crowds walk in the streets dodging cars as sidewalks are either too narrow or taken up by parked cars, signs, motorcycles. There are many restaurants with great food (very reasonably priced for the tourists, but very pricey for the locals). The beaches are also very crowded, which is weird as the cost of an umbrella and two chairs can be up to 80 euros in the worst of August. There are many different restaurants/bars that operate the beaches so it's best to walk around and ask about pricing. I would avoid '3 Ishujt', it is the priciest, busiest, and not the greatest staff.Guest review byJulianIsrael - 6.0
The people are unfriendly and very rude.
The people are unfriendly and very rude. Even when you go to a restaurant, shop or bar, they don't even say hello or welcome. When you want to ask something, they turn their face and ignore you. It was unbelievable for me, I was shocked when I got these reactions in Ksamil, even in Tirana airport. They lie and cheat a lot; be careful about it. When you ask a driver about a location, they say "Yes, this bus goes", and then they leave you somewhere, which is not what you asked for. Also, when they realise you are a tourist, they give you another price. Generally, in Albania, cash is common. However, some places have card payment, but they say they do not accept card payments or ask you to pay an extra commission fee, or they charge the price of what you buy or eat/drink if you want to pay by card. The town is lively with a lot of good restaurants and nice vibe. We stayed in the Arameras Resort which is a short drive away and it was ideal. Close to the town but far from it when needed. Ksamil was a wonderful alternative for those seeking a beach holiday without the crowds of other popular destinations. The beaches are clean and the sea is absolutely amazing. There are an abundance of restaurants, bars, and activities to enjoy. It's also convenient that Euros are accepted almost everywhere. The most beautiful sunsets were visible from almost every spot in Ksamil, and unlike some other beach destinations, Ksamil is rather quiet and peaceful. Beautiful beaches (man-made) and turquoise waters. Nice kind of Ibiza vibe going on with the beach clubs. One downside is you need to hire sun beds at 98% of beaches (no room to just rock up and put your towel down). Cost for this vary with time of season but min. 10 euros for basic to 50 euros for "instagramable". Food and drink excellent and relatively cheap. Loved it.
Loved it. The place was beautiful, the pictures don’t mke it justice as to how good it is. You literally have the sunset to admire either at the pool, or patio or even your private balcony. It’s well located and a bit more to the “not so many people” side of Ksamil which made it awesome. The people there were super nice, Lele was lovely and her chocolate cake at breakfast cured my hangover. I definitely want to go back some day. Right in the center of town, close to supermarket, restaurants & bars, 5 mins walk to the beach, near bus stop to Saranda. Hotel was very clean. The room was comfortable with plenty of room, kitchen facilities and a balcony with a lovely view out to the lagoon.
