We were just stopping for a night on the way to the snow but it's a nice little town with supermarkets and ski hire to pick up everything you need. Countryside is nice and a good mountain biking track too (Mt Gladstone).

The Monaro is spectacular country and Cooma has plenty of great atmosphere. It's always bustling with lots of activity from locals including graziers and their families coming into town and skiers on their way, or coming back, from the Snowy. Love all the shops and enjoyed dinner at the ex-Servicemen's Club.

Lovely atmosphere in our part of town.
Lovely atmosphere in our part of town. The entry from the Canberra side looks as though it is for the young. We were in the old part of the town - much more to my liking (75 yo). Lovely to walk around and wonderful old homes and churches on the top of the hill behind the motel.

Great town at the foot of the snowy mountains.
Great town at the foot of the snowy mountains. Is quite a bustling small city now with many shops that seems to have thrived/come back to life post Covid. Plenty to see & do, great choice of restaurants & Cafes. It just needs a Dan Murphy's, a Big W & a Hungry Jacks & it would be perfect :-)

Cooma makes a pleasant stop-over, perhaps for a meal or toilet break, but make arrangements to stay somewhere else. The accommodation options are limited, expensive and not up to modern standards. The location of the town to the NSW alpine region is clearly the reason why these facilities can charge excessive rates.
The room stinks, bed very uncomfortable, bathroom smells, not worth for what we paid for.
We stayed at Canberra prior to Cooma, and we paid only $250, with 2 bedrooms, 2 TVs, self contained kitchen, really big rooms, so we were disappointed with the room at your motel, not really worth the money. Never staying there again, and definitely not recommending to anyone.
We stayed in the Family room (2 bedrooms). The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were nice and clean all around. We used the microwave to heat meals which was very convenient. Our view towards the hills/mountains was lovely. The contact free check in was smooth and the one time we messaged reception, it was answered promptly.
The historic house was so quirky and lovely! Was great to have our fur baby with us too. Maria is such a lovely lady and puts in a lot of hours every day ensuring her animals are looked after. It was so interesting hearing her stories. She took my boys and had them feed the animals and do a few “odd jobs”. The boys felt useful!
Great location, right on the main street. Value for money for a one bedroom room. Very easy check in and check out process. Free wifi was really good. Across from the hotel are fast food options and some shops which was handy. We were able to park right outside our room which is helpful. Staff were lovely and very welcoming.
Large property with clean rooms and good facilities. All amenities have been thoughtfully provided. We were a family of 4 adults and 2 kids and there were 3 large fully furnished bedrooms. One of the bedrooms had two twin beds plus a single so it was ample space for all of us.
The Alpine Hotel at Cooma is simply brilliant. Great staff, beautiful updated facilities with with comfortable rooms upstairs. Food was also excellent. Can't wait to come back for another visit. Cheers guys!

Our stay was very comfortable. Reverse cycle air conditioning and electric blankets kept us wonderfully warm. The owners are doing a wonderful job updating the hotel.
Very accommodating and very easy communication with Michelle. House was clean and very homely, will definitely come back again and highly recommend for others too.
Beautiful cottage in the heart of Cooma. The beds were super comfortable and it was great to have lots of room to relax in.
