We always stay here when coming through Rockhampton usually only overnight. Rooms are brilliant, well appointed and very close to all fast foods or pub. The pub actually has really good meals. Rocky is the beef capital of Australia and is a fine rural city with a great history, also on the Capricorn, the summer equator, the allegedly the lowest where estuarine Crocs live, but don't trust me talk to the locals. Yeppoon is just on the coast with great hotels and beaches, The Kepple Islands and Byfield National Park is not too far north, great for hikers and 4WD'ers The beach north of Yeppoon is a great 4WD as well. We especially enjoyed our drive to Emu Park and Yeppoon. Lovely drive there and lots to look at. We had lunch there one day. Spent another day in Rockhampton visiting local parks and shopping centre.
