I loved the hidden beach behind the town.
I loved the hidden beach behind the town. Its a drive away from the 12 apostles, waterfalls etc, but its still a great place to stay and look around for a bit. It was super calm and quiet but there were also streets full of people and cafees.

The beach walk is excellent and you can watch, or join in with, the surfers. There is also a very nice golf course near the marina.
If you want yo bbq there are plenty of places to just set up and go with the bbq’s ready to go.
The shops are good and the restaurants are very nice.
The town is also home to the Southern most pub in Sustralia, where you can get a very nice meal.

Went in mid Feb and it wasn’t too busy which was great. Can get cold and windy so bring some warm clothes! Lovely beach and relaxed town. Chris’s Restaurant was fantastic as a fine dining option and just a short drive away.

The location is good and close to the beach.
The location is good and close to the beach. However, the facilities lack maintenance and rooms have broken furnitures ( pictures annexed) our toilet had a large spider net in the window (inside).
Nobody showed up despite through booking email confirmation.
Not worth it. Happy to provide more details.

Beautiful beaches - be sure to walk along Marengo beach.
Beautiful beaches - be sure to walk along Marengo beach. Day trippers make lunchtime busy in town. Great fish & chips, oysters, scallops & crayfish at harbour (10% surcharge on weekends!). Good fresh fish and yummy seafood starters at fish shop. Good Italian.

Added extra day before Public Holiday (aust day) for extra day travel time.
Beach and Rain forest surprises. Good restaurants (Casalinga) for dine in or pizza. (Georges also did good pizza) Bakery gets busy esp Sundays - I know bc we went every day for 3 days. Took picnic rolls from there to Redwoods. Fishermans Co-op was too busy, but good place to walk around AB Harbour. AB Hotel (near bakery) ok meal, helpful staff, free music great Saturday night. Very casual in AB. Great views from Marriners Look out, easy walk for everyone- except dogs. Did not realize there were so many walks (NOT Hikes) possible if not much beach weather. We will come back to complete those walks & views we did not get to.
The accommodation was fine for the price and the staff was pleasant and pleasing. My major concern was with a possible fire hazard as the motel was located above a restaurant. 1. NO fire exit information was noted on the back of the room door. No break -glass fire alarm was in the hallway. No exit signs were in the hall. No fire sprinklers in the hall or rooms. To me, an engineer by training, the motel was a fire hazard. The motel requires major work from a fire viewpoint. Leonard Koss, PhD, Certified Professional Engineer.
We had a wonderful and comfortable stay at the Sea Change Guesthouse during our time at Apollo Bay. Thank you Robyn for your hospitality and adding small thoughtful touches around the house to make us feel more at home.
Location was also great and convenient with many food options and beach access nearby.
Our favourite place around the house was the beautiful garden (great for strolls), where we also spotted the residential Kuala.
I booked a hotel according to the standard of a four-star hotel, but when I saw that everyone rated it as a motel, I was very worried. After checking in, my worries were unnecessary. I brought my child with me, and they gave me a room with an independent courtyard, which was very convenient. Clean, very warm, very satisfied, I will continue to book.
The location was perfect, right near to the beach, room was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Unfortunately we were on a tight schedule so didn't have a chance to spend much time around Apollo Bay. That said, we had a lovely meal at the Italian Restaurant - Casalingo - which we walked to from the hotel (around 20 mins).
A lovely, well kept property with pretty much everything you need and lots of natural light. Beautifully presented with fabulous view of the beach from the bedroom. A short walk to the beach and short drive to the shops at Apollo Bay. Several units in the group. Very quiet and peaceful. I’ll definitely be back.
The motel was located close to the centre and the beach of Apollo Bay with free on site parking. Our ground floor room had plenty of space and was clean and well-maintained. There was a small kitchenette area and utensils - enough for a light breakfast. The common laundrette was free to use.
Location: great view of bay from 2nd story great room (see photos.) This hotel has what they call a family suite, a wonderful value/option instead of 3 hotel rooms. It was clean, full kitchen, water was hot. The 3 bedrooms and 5 beds worked well for our mix. Comfortable beds. Great price.
Huge apartment spread over 3 levels, with 2 bedrooms on the ground floor, the main bedroom, living room, dining room & kitchen on the 1st floor and another bedroom on the 2nd floor. Secured garage, laundry facilities, balcony - a very comfortable place to stay in Apollo Bay.
we booked the hotel just two hours before the arrival and did not expect much. But our expectations were exceeded - the staff was amazing, the location was superb and the room was very comfortable with all we needed. As the bonus - the shop is just across the street.
Loved the room and location. House was presented beautifully and was very clean. The breakfast was fantastic and the owners were lovely. Hands down the best place I have stayed during my Apollo Bay trips.
Good value place to stop. Small family run motel, comfy beds with lovely crisp linen. All we needed fora night on the Great Ocean road. Good supermarket and plenty of eating options in nearby Apollo Bay.
Fantastic location. Very clean, comfy beds, good shower. Within 100m of shops on the GOR. This is my "go to" motel in Apollo Bay...hubby & I already booked in for next month!
