Experience tranquility requires time to seep into your being. Be sure to book enough time, or come early and leave late as hosts and the property are wonderful. The beautiful wood surrounded by nature reminded us of the Serengeti, so close to Eden. Robbie’s breakfasts are reason enough to stay.

If you attend a Bird Watching tour, don't drive super early in the morning from Cairns, this is the place to stay! The boat leaves right in front of this lodge and it was convenient. There's nothing fancy in the room but it satisfies our basic needs.

Greg has done a great job to make his accommodations completely off the grid and eco sustainable. The cabins are well appointed, roomy, and very comfortable. There is a large community area with a billiards table and swimming pool. Food and beverage is also available on site which is very convenient in this rural, yet exquisitely beautiful part of the country. We enjoyed listening to Greg’s stories about his varied adventures abroad as well as appreciated his skills in the kitchen- providing delicious meals with generous portions.

Great location in Daintree just past the ferry (if you’re new to the area, be sure to google the Daintree ferry so you understand the situation). Very cool in the rainforest and a nice crowd. Also good value for the money.

The whole place was magical. We loved bathing in the outdoor shower and bath surrounded by tropical plants. We were here not long after cyclone Jasper hit, so most places in Daintree were closed and there were no other guests. We had to cancel a few tours we booked because of the cyclone but we think that was a blessing in disguise since it gave us time to relax, cook delicious meals in the outdoor kitchen, cool off in the swimming hole a few minutes walk away, walk north along the closed road, helped clear some of the deadfall along one of the trails (we volunteered). There were so many different rainforest sounds in the day and at night. The 5 nights we were there we didn’t use our car to get anywhere, other than when we arrived and left! We will be back one day in the future.
Set directly opposite Thornton Beach and surrounded by the Daintree National Park, Thornton Beach Bungalows feature a private patio offering views of the Coral Sea.

The whole experience from the ferry ride, meandering along windy roads whilst taking in the magnificent tropical views to our destination was fascinating.
The 2023 December cyclone caused chaos with the roads eroding & severely damaged, there are traffic management staff all the way with single lanes & traffic lights along cape tribulation road.
Well worth a visit to support the local businesses & Heritage Lodge staff were amazing & our evening dinners were 5 star restaurant

Daintree was lovely and we enjoyed birdwatching, exploring some of the surrounding tracks and, particularly, an early-morning birding trip on the Daintree River. However, we changed our plans and stayed in Port Douglas which was close enough to allow daily trips to Daintree but had better - and better value - hotels, a choice of restaurants and so on.

A wonderful experience in the Daintree and Cape Trib.
A wonderful experience in the Daintree and Cape Trib. We missed the Cassowary Falls as they wanted $59 per adult to enter. So sadly, no where nearby for a free swim in the heat. Ferry over the river was $45 return which is pricey for a 2 minute trip across. The DVH Pub over the road had great bar staff with meals and drinks very affordable and yummy. The manager even put the T20 world cup cricket final on the TV for us. The café at Thornton Beach had great views and tasty sour dough sandwiches. Recommend a stop at the Daintree Ice-cream park too as they were fantastic flavors and only $7.50 for a tub of four varieties!

Beautiful, amazing and peaceful, we loved the Daintree.
Beautiful, amazing and peaceful, we loved the Daintree. Can't wait to visit again. Cassowary falls was amazing and I would recommend the Eco Lodge for dinner. Unfortunately we missed out on daintree icecream but won't next visit. Dave at Solarwhisper tours was amazing with his personal knowledge of the local crocs and wildlife. Swimming in the Emmagen creek was fun, we should have gone to the blue holes for a swim but will have too next time also. Highly recommended sailaway tours to Mackay Cay for a great reef experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Daintree Ecolodge. The room and the view of the rainforest/pond from the room was surreal. The staff were especially friendly and always greeted us as we walked to breakfast each morning and around the grounds throughout the day. We dined at the restaurant and enjoyed many delicious meals, coffees and cocktails (which each incorporated local ingredients) made at the recommendation of the staff.
Outstanding location for accessing the upper Daintree attractions.
Accommodation was wonderful in respect of being off the grid and amongst the rain forest.
Hosts were very welcoming, full of local information and very much respectful of privacy.
Small number of rooms meant it was very relaxing in terms of it being peaceful.
3 nights was great. Great breakfasts Rob!
Our stay at Daintree Manor was so exceptional. What a beautiful place and such helpful and accommodating hosts. The breakfast and coffee were so delicious and we had a wonderful couple of days in the area - made possible by Robbie’s great guidance and suggestions. Robbie and Charmaine are super kind and accommodating hosts and made us feel right at home.
Location was within walking distance to all attractions. Barry and Di were exceptional hosts with great knowledge of the local fauna and flora. The rooms were above and beyond. The breakfasts were just next level nothing was to much trouble I highly recommend this accommodation and will definitely return 😎
Loved the property - the views, the solitude, the butterflies, the hot tub. The hike to the waterfall was a highlight of the two weeks in Australia! The breakfast was great too and Andy was very accommodating as a host! We would absolutely considering coming back on a future trip.
The dinner was superb and well priced for the portion size. The accommodation looks pretty from the outside and had potential to be a lovely place. Good views and comfortable bed (once you deal with the ant infestation under the covers!) I can’t say anything else positive though.
The property was just what we expected - a nice group of bungalows tucked into the rainforest. The staff were great and really made us feel very welcome. They were also very helpful in planning our day trips. It’s location was very convenient for exploring the Daintree area.
Absolutely awesome views, best in the Daintree!!!!! Gorgeous home and Gerry the host is super friendly, interesting and very informative and helpful with things to see and do in the area, fantastic communication and willing to go above and beyond to make your stay special.
We enjoyed our stay here. Gil is a legend (we didn't get to meet Donna as she was ill). Room was comfortable and had character, we liked the decor. The property suited us as a 2 night stay to explore the daintree. It's very close to the ferry and river tours.

the hotel is right next to the river, amazing views and a place to relax. On the opposite side of the road there is a pub where you can eat and drink in a cool atmosphere.
Beautiful spot, so convenient for all the attractions of the Daintree. Well thought out eco lodge, completely off the grid. Dinner was good too. Loved the wildlife
