By providing a restful happy environment, a hearty breakfast and information to make the most of your stay ‘The Graces’ is an embodiment of it’s name.

'The Graces', the house was constructed as the manse for St Andrews Presbyterian Church on the corner of Williams and Ford Street, around 1857. After serving the Minister, his family and church, it became a halfway house for those returning to the community after confinement at the Mayday Hills Asylum or Beechworth Goal, eventually becoming a Bed & Breakfast in the late 1970’s. The Graces Beechworth has been lovingly restored, enhancing and capturing the original and exquisite features of the residence. The steps and ceilings have been magnificently crafted from Kauri pine and the intimate courtyard is paved with original bricks from the 1850's. The name represents the history of the house as it graced the church as a manse and community by providing shelter both metaphorically and physically to those within. After a short time at ‘The Graces” it is easy to see it also represents the characteristics of the Greek goddesses:Their main role was to bestow beauty and goodness and to give a feeling of wellbeing to people in general.
