Malting Lagoon Guest House is situated in Coles Bay Tasmania, on the Freycinet Peninsula, the gateway to Wineglass Bay. It's only a 10-minute drive from Freycinet National Park as well as the walking track to the Wineglass Bay Lookout. Guests enjoy free WiFi and free breakfast. For Winter 2023 we are offering a stay with no breakfast at a discounted rate. Located in the owner's home, the accommodation features a private en suite bathroom, king size zip beds and LCD Smart TVs with Netflix and Stan streaming services. There are 2 rooms at the property, accommodating a maximum of 4 guests. Rooms have block-out blinds. A free continental breakfast is provided daily. There is a shared lounge at the property where you can socialise, as well as outdoor areas including BBQ facilities, a firepit and a picnic table in the garden. The property is ideally located to access Freycinet National Park and Wineglass Bay, where you can enjoy a cruise or kayaking. For winter 2023, our Craft Beer Tastings are not available with our basic stay package. If you would like a craft beer tasting please contact us prior to booking.

Modern, comfortable Guest House accommodation in Coles Bay Tasmania. Gateway to Wineglass Bay and Freycinet National Park. King size beds. Free wifi. Netflix and Stan on the Smart TV's. Block-out electric blinds. A guest lounge and covered deck, plus a BBQ, picnic table and fire pit in the garden. Stays of 3 night or more attract a 5% discount We have our own Nano Brewery onsite, and offer Tasting Sessions with the brewer, by appointment, for our In House guests only. If you stay 3 nights we provide a free beer tasting flight for you. We're situated about 7km north of Coles Bay village, in the satellite Coles Bay suburb of Swanwick. We have an acre of land, half of it on top of the ridge overlooking Great Oyster Bay to the South and the Frecyinet Golf Club and the Swanwick Recreational area to the north. It's a peaceful & private property in a semi urban area.
We have lived and/or holidayed in Coles Bay for most of our lives. We have a good knowledge of walks, hikes, local activities, restaurants, fishing spots etc... so ask us what might be right for you.
It's a short drive to the Wineglass Bay walking tracks. Climb to the lookout point to see the view to Wineglass Bay. Head on down to the beach if you're up to it. If not, Friendly Beaches to the north offers the same fine white sand and turquoise waters, with easy access. For the more experienced walkers, why not try Mt Amos or Mt Graham. Ask us, or the National Parks office if it's for you first. Some of the walks can be challenging, so it's a good idea to check with someone before you go. We have a great beach here in Swanwick, with an ever changing sand dune system. There's a boat ramp nearby that you could fish from. For golfers, we are on the Freycinet Golf Course Estate.
