The location and view to the sea was great. The onsite cafe / restaurant was great.
Amazing people, wines and food. The Cube was an experience and the food at d'Terry's on the verandah was amazing.
We did a tour with "Affordable Tours with G" which was great, the wines are lovely and the winemakers very chatty! Lunch at the Tap House was really good as well - great tasting options (if you need a break from wine) and the best pizza I've had in a long time.
Dinner at Star of Greece well worth it as food and service is fantastic.

McLaren Vale is a must to visit when visiting Adelaide, because of its soil it has without a doubt the best wines in South Australia. Three days was not enough time to spend in this region to see and taste the wonders here. We would highly recommend visiting McLaren Vale as a must-see destination.

I live close by but we had a family wedding just outside McLaren Vale. It is such a lovely spot - truly lovely place to visit and stay - lots of places to visit, lots of wineries. It is so worth the trip and if you can stay for a few days - it will be worth it. Great place to base yourself for a look around the area.

This is a lovely little town and we enjoy going down and checking out the coffee shops and places to have lunch. We enjoy the Information Centre which has a beautiful outdoor undercover setting to sit and have a delightful lunch in the sun.

The wines in McLaren Vale are great.
The wines in McLaren Vale are great. We loved Samuel's Gorge, Kays and Fox Creek wineries. Most wineries charge for tasting the wines but that cost is removed if you purchase wine. The wineries also allow two people to share a tasting because of the issue of drink driving.
There are bus tours available in the area but we had our own car.
Eating can be tricky because many places are only open Thurs, Friday, Sat and Sunday. It is probably a good idea to check at the Visitors' centre to find out what is open when you are there. We ate at the Salopian Inn, Harry's Deli (Wirra Wirra winery), The Currant Shed and Pizzatecca and would recommend them all.
The location is superb - a lovely restored and very comfortable 1940s cottage sitting beside a vineyard, right on McLaren Vale's Shiraz Trail for walkers and cyclists. A lovely verandah beckons - sit and enjoy a glass of the local wines, overlooking the vineyards. Close to the local village centre and good restaurants not far away. Loved every moment - McLaren Vale is fabulous.
Great house in the middle of Mcclaren Vale wine country which was the purpose of the trip. Very comfortable beds and living space and kitchen. Had food for breakfast and great dishes, glasses and utensils. Nice patio. Had a washer that I used and tried clothes on line in backyard. Mike was a very attentive host
Very well renovated heritage cottage, full of character and very cosy with wood fire. Anne and John were perfect hosts and they supplied a very generous selection of supplies for our stay, including a delightful bottle of McLaren Vale wine and cheeses that we enjoyed.
A lovely cottage, well set out and well located to the town with just a short walk with a short drive to the major wineries. The outdoor fireplace and garden area. The bath was lovely. The location was great. We as a couple only, loved our stay.
Lovely old fully restored heritage building, loads of space, nice little kitchenette, plenty of breakfast supplies provided. Its rural setting was also very pleasant, yet only a few minutes drive to McLaren Vale for cafes, shopping etc.
The room was very comfortable and spacious in a convenient location. The staff were excellent and kindly managed changes to my booking during my stay without issue. I'll be glad to stay there again when next I'm in McLaren Vale.
It was a lovely, comfortable and very clean apartment. It had everything we needed and was in a perfect location to explore McLaren Vale. Very comfortable bed and all the kitchen and laundry needs you could want.
Complimentary wine and chocolates. Wonderful location. Very quiet, bright, airy and spacious. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Foxtel access on all TV's. Kitchen, bathrooms, laundry have everything you need.
We were so happy with our stay at Friends at McLaren Vale! So welcoming and a lovely stocked fridge! We all loved playing with Pepe the Border Collie and almost forgot we had to leave to attend a wedding!
the Cottage was beautiful, not sure I could think of anything else that was needed, maybe a couple of chairs for outside, as opposed to the benches only....for relaxing in/reading outdoors...
this property is perfectly situated for exploring the wineries around McLaren Vale.
really lovely room, comfortable with lovely extras like port and chocolate. sizeable and very comfy
Check in was effortless. Room was very spacious and clean. Bed very comfortable. Convenient location. 20 min walk to Salopian Inn along Shiraz Trail and road.
