Seacombe House Motor Inn Port Fairy, hotel in Port Fairy

This unique property is spread across 3 buildings, and provides a variety of accommodations, including cottages and private rooms.

We stayed in the ''old house'' section and enjoyed the quaintness of the room and the decor. The room was well facilitated and even though we were warned we may hear the room overhead; it was never a concern for us. Staff were more than welcome to move us if we wanted. you don't get that service from a large motel chain!

We had a lovely welcome and were given the choice of two rooms. There is no aircon but the temperature made that ok. The room was small but very cosy and sweet and the facilities were good. The location is great, close to the main street and a few minutes walk to the quayside.

    Second oldest town in Victoria.

Second oldest town in Victoria. Plus went to the Aboriginal Eel Traps at Tae Rak Aquaculture Centre. Traps are 6,000 years old. Our guide was most informative about their culture. Just brilliant. Main street has not been spoiled by developments. A most characterful area and continues down to and along the river. I like staying in 'old' towns such as this. Echuca, Castlemain, Creswick, Beechworth, Bright, Yackandanda, Swan Hill, San Remo, etc.

Port Fairy I believe is the best presented village on the Coast in Victoria and perhaps even Australia. The walk along the River among the fascinating old and quaint homes is truely memorable. We ate at Hotel one evening and very character filled Pizza and Bar restaurant another evening.Best Pizza we have had in years,Port Fairy is a dream to walk around from the River to the Beach to the parks and gardens and generally around main village precinct.Only thing we would avoid is not staying long enough and we could have enjoyed world class golf course.

Port Fairy is a pretty little town.

Port Fairy is a pretty little town. I loved the historic buildings especially the timber cottages. The town is obviously cherished by its inhabitants and pride is taken in its presentation and history. There are some great places to eat in Port Fairy. We had hoped to do some walking along the path by the river and around Griffith island. My husband has Parkinson’s and uses a walker for balance. We did some walking but we’re limited because the path along the river is broken by stairs to the footbridge over the river and the start of the Griffith island path is wonderful but deteriorates to rough gravel. Port Fairy is a great place to visit - especially if you appreciate a very good golf course. The town has great historical interest and is well appointed for tourists. This part of Victoria is very exposed to the weather so the traveller needs to check the weather in advance and take clothes to suit.

Our room was exceptional, thoughtfully designed with some interesting architectural features. The theme carried on into the lounge/dining room which is light filled and beautifully furnished. The breakfasts and dinner ( if you’re lucky enough to be staying on one of the evenings when dinner is served) are exceptional, and the staff are friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. An outstanding small luxury hotel.

The room was a good size and clean. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and there is a good Italian cafe where you can have breakfast, located within the building and accessible through reception. Parking was easy, and the Inn is located close to the centre of Port Fairy with its shops and restaurants.

We were upgraded fromy original Train Carriage booking to a mobility friendly cabin. The park is right beside the Moyne river and the environment is very quiet. Port Fairy is a great little town, and I would most certainly stay at the Pelican Waters again in future. The hosts were most accomodating for us.

I absolutely loved port fairy and so thrilled that I picked this little town to stay in and not somewhere else. It is absolutely charming and the rose of Norfolk pines are some of the best or actually the best I have seen in Australia. Full of Birdsong and wildlife. I really loved this location.

Had a pleasant stay at Port Fairy YHA. The lovely elder gentleman (mentioned works part-time) gave a rundown of the property, gave recommendations for coffee, and what to do in the morning. The room was very cozy and the outside of the hostel had a very lovely area.
