I have lived in Gundaroo for more than 20 years. My career has spanned a number of industries and I am a competent executive and expert host. As a grandparent, I enjoy children, and I also work with the local public school and parents and do tutoring in both spelling, reading, writing and maths for primary school students. Gardening is a passion and great love, and this is reflected in the gardens at The Nest.

Property info

The Nest at Gundaroo was an idea from my daughter, and a project then funded by my son. As a family that loves the historic village, we consulted local families, businesses and visitors to find out what was wanted for accommodation in our popular village. Great care was taken to integrate with the heritage feel of Cork Street. It was important that villas are spacious, light and luxurious. We wanted windows that opened with lots of fresh air. We wanted people to feel comfortable, at ease and relaxed. For those who live very busy and hectic lives, we wanted our villas to give them a chance to take a breath and unwind. We also wanted each villas to have the facilities so guests can cook as much, or as little as they prefer. Check out is not until 11am - so sleeping in is encouraged. And we have added real country hospitality and care to make guests feel they are part of the Gundaroo family. All of this, and more, has been created at The Nest at Gundaroo. Feedback from guests has been superb. We are heartened to be providing a valuable service and hope we can host you in 2016.

Neighborhood info

Gundaroo is a historic village combined with a rural charm. With many superb and award-winning eateries, vineyards and our famous pub -- Gundaroo is heavily frequented by visitors every weekend from Canberra (which is only 30 minutes drive away) as well as those travelling and exploring the region. Gundaroo's historic churches, public school (which just celebrated its 150th anniversary, old Police Station and more, are well worth exploring. And that is saying nothing of the great wineries and truffles in the region.
