1770 Beach Accommodation is a family owned and operated business run by Richard and Jo, who took the plunge and took this business over in December 2023, after falling in love with the area on various holidays to the beautiful Agnes Water & 1770. We specialise in holiday property letting and are a buyer's advocate for Agnes Water & 1770. We hope that our guests fall in love with the area the way we did, and will always want to return.

This original beach shack was first built in the 1960's along the foreshores of the Bay. At that time there were no roads into the area, no TV or phone reception or even electricity. Fridges were powered by gas, lighting was by lamp and amenities were out the back! Times have changed but the Shack still retains it original rustic charm offering affordable, no frills accommodation. The Shack is surrounded by conservation parklands, so don't be surprised if you get a visit from one of the varied local specials of wildlife. This may include bush turkeys, many variety of birds, lizards and the local marsupial bush rats. Just be sure to lock away your fruit and bread or you may wake up in the middle of the night to see them enjoying a picnic! The Shack is ideal if you have a pet and don't mind if there are no screens or air con. There are stairs to the entrance (does not include a handrail) and parking is on the road in front of the Shack. Remember, whatever the temperature is outside is what it is inside, a bit like camping with your own private amenities and comfy beds.

Agnes Water, QLD is surrounded by National Parks, pristine waterways and long stretches of unspoiled beaches which front onto the Coral Sea. Approximately 8 kilometres away is the neighbouring town of 1770, a gorgeous, historic place where Captain Cook landed all those years ago. Along the headlands of 1770, visitors are offered amazing panoramic views across Bustard Bay, the estuary & creeks. We enjoy an excellent year-round climate with Queensland’s northernmost surf beach at Agnes Water for surfing and beach activities. Along the Bay at 1770 you can walk along the parklands and enjoy kayaking, fishing and paddle boarding. It is a short walk to the variety of cafes & boutique shops in the Agnes Water shopping Village or walk down to the beautiful Agnes Water surf beach for a leisurely day along the water. A vibrant Sunday morning market takes place every second weekend.
