Excellent location close to the beach, headland walking track and only a short walk into the town centre with all the bars, restaurants and shops. We were a large group of 12 people across three families, with kids and elderly relatives and the accommodation could not have been more perfect for us!
Relax in this charming resort of spacious, self-contained holiday town houses, built around a free-form swimming pool, barbecue and entertainment area.

Quick gateway to the Daintree rain forest and Great Barrier Reef. The town is peaceful but big enough to get everything you need. There is no public transport but pay fee shuttle services. We hired a car and found that useful. People used push bike hire. There are plenty of restaurants, ice cream shops. The tour options are never ending. We did a snorkelling tour to the outer reef and a day trip to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation.

Very nice town has lots of shops restaurant cafes and pubs, nice beach and very chill. Town centre is very walkable. We by coincidence were there for carnivale which is 2 days of celebrations, was great fun, and the place is very family friendly.

I really liked the wide variety of places to dine and all within easy walking distance. Lovely walk along the beach and up to the viewing points. Very clean and in a great location for getting to other areas of interest in that part of Queensland. It’s a great location.

We have been regulars in Port Douglas for the last twenty years the most consistent restaurants are as follows
1.Zinc
2. Salsa
3. Iron Bar
4. Gelato place called La Capenina
Most people are very friendly and accommodating and walking along 4 Mile beach is great however if you’re a family and want to see the reef don’t let the experience be soured by the expense as you do need a bit of money however

Great family holiday destination; lots to do.
Great family holiday destination; lots to do.
Snorkelling at the reef, strolling on the beaches and in the rainforest. Hartleys crocodile well worth a visit.
Lovely warm weather; easy to get around.
Roading up to Cape Tribulation still slow and some surface flooding due to heavy rainfall whilst we were there.
Beyond expectations - beautiful like a little villa on Bali. Massive rooms that have a private outdoor sitting area and shower, a mini kitchen, king bed, and big lounge area. Beautifully kept landscaping across the resort, large pool, honesty bar, and only a 15 minute walk into town. Also has gated parking. Such good value, and staff were very nice and accommodating. Will definitely stay here if we are ever in port Douglas again.
The Newport on Macrossan is located on the Main Street in Port Douglas surrounded by great restaurants and shops. Pat was friendly and attentive and went above and beyond to help us out after my son left his glasses behind. Our room was quiet at night. The pool and seating area were lovely during the hot days. The apartment was stocked with all that we needed. I'd definitely stay there again.
Being located in the heart of Port Douglas we found it perfect just being to walk out and be in the middle of the Main Street. The unit itself was very well presented and had plenty of room especially with a good size balcony and daybed. Pool and facilities were adequate without all the hustle and bustle of the larger resorts which made for a nice relaxing vacation. Will definitely be back.
The house was much nicer than expected! The photos really don’t do this place justice! The beds were comfy, the pool was used a lot and the extra supply of towels was appreciated! Location was just out of port Douglas, with a 5 min drive into town. The house was a relaxing and comfortable getaway, one we will most definitely visit again!!
These units have everything you need, and are really well located for getting around the area and Port Douglas. The space is great, and I loved having the washer and dryer, extra toilet, and kitchen. The pool is pretty big -- I doubt it ever feels crowded, even when there are a lot of people in and around it. Staff was lovely.
The gardens are beautiful. There is a ramp to lobby. Unlike many hotels in the Cairns region this hotel is accessible for people of all ages and the staff are very willing to accommodate this. The mould issues that plague many Cairns hotel rooms due to carpets being put in the rooms seem to have been dealt with here.
I was an excellent location, right in the middle of Port Douglas village.
The room was spacious and clean with air conditioning and fans.
The resort was very quiet and we had the pool to ourselves most of the time.
Lyn and Rob, who run the resort, are very friendly and organised. They made everything easy.
Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. The owners Kim & James were very friendly and provided top service. We felt at home. The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Port Douglas, which makes it easy to access the beaches, restaurants, pubs and shops by foot.
Unfortunately, I didn't appreciate this hotel as it is rated 5 stars when in fact it is borderline between 3 and 4 only. The location of the hotel to town is good, however the room we were provided did not meet our expectations for the cost.
Very nice apartments. Room is a good size for a couple and had a decent sized bathroom too. Shower over bath.
Pool fabulous as was the location. 3 min walk to main Street of Port Douglas.
We would definitely stay again.
No breakfast provided.
Location a short drive or walk from the centre of Port Douglas
It was very quiet and we slept well
Edward was extremely helpful with arranging a trip and sharing his knowledge of the local area
Loved the location... outlook into the rainforest was spectacular. We hired bikes and rode into Port Douglas very easily along the beach. Also very peaceful and private from the adjacent two townhouses.
The position of Le Cher was central, of Port Douglas & so handy for most everything, shops, restaurants, pubs, & boat harbour, We had a nice appt, & (we love children, )but was nice to be Adults only
We love this place, we visit Port Douglas every Year and have tried many different resorts but have now stayed here the last 3 years in a row. The facilities, location and pool are fantastic
This was an excellent place to stay. It was absolutely beautiful and had a great feeling about it - very unique. I wouldn’t hesitate to book back in whenever I return to Port Douglas.
This hotel was great value for money especially for Port Douglas. Super clean and plenty of room. For us the location was excellent as we had a wedding only 400m away.
An awesome house with everything you could need. Coffee shops a short stroll away with easy access to 4 mile beach and only minutes from main street Port Douglas.
