Although known for the Nuremberg Trials, this Bavarian city has a stunning medieval core of cobbled streets and half-timbered buildings that wouldn’t look out of place in a fairy tale. Sitting above this is the castle, one of the most important in the Holy Roman Empire. Take the steep walk up here for fantastic old town views.
Hauptmarkt square in the old town is home to an unusual-looking church and a Gothic fountain, spectacularly lit during the annual Nuremberg Christmas markets. Selling everything from wooden toys to lebkuchen (gingerbread), these are widely considered the best Christmas markets in Germany.
Other attractions in Nuremberg (Nürnberg in German) include the Germanisches Nationalmuseum, the country’s largest museum of culture and art. Another highlight is the Heilig-Geist-Spital, a medieval hospital by the Pegnitz River.
A word must also be said about its relationship with Nazism. On the south-east corner are the immense Nazi Rally Grounds and Party Congress Hall, built in appropriately domineering fashion. The excellent Documentation Center here is a sensitive and unbiased portrayal of life under Hitler. It is also possible to visit the courtroom where the war trials were held.
Before leaving your Booking.com apartment, hotel or hostel to go to Nuremberg Airport, don’t forget to try the spicy local sausage!
Nuremberg has so much to offer. You definitely need at least two days to enjoy much of what it has to offer. Three days would have been easier to see more things. You can spend one day just walking around and exploring. It's really easy to walk around the city to see most of the major historic sites. We visited the castle and climbed up the tower, which was lovely, We toured the City museum Fembo House, which not only had history but beautiful interiors, and we visited the two largest churches. We also visited the massive DB Train Museum, which was fantastic; a must for train lovers. An added bonus was that it was spring festival so we got to see the massive fun fair and get strawberries and white asparagus. We didn't have time to check out the massive Germanisches Nationalmuseum so definitely needed an extra day.

Very steep hills to walk, on cobblestone streets in the old town.
Favorite place was Old Town and Nuremberg trials.
Eat at The Boteco Brazilian restaurant and Provence in the square. We would highly recommend both.

Nuremberg has an edgy vibe with many open air restaurants, walkable pedestrian zones, multiple museums and interesting shops and, of course, the wonderful architecture and war history. So much to see and do. Three days wasn't enough for us to see everything we wanted to. We missed the zoo and amber museum, but were able to attend a ballet at the opera house. Great selection of theater presentations and the walk along the river is beautiful.

Lots to see and do in Nuernberg.
Lots to see and do in Nuernberg. Good shopping possibilities, and excellent public transport options. Very good pizzaria just south of the station, called SouthSide. Good menu choices, with generous portions. Also smaller portions available for seniors.

We loved the Imperial Castle and the Albrecht Dürer Haus. Just wandering around looking at the sites. We ate out once and cooked in the apartment the other nights. The U-bahn is easy to access and use but we tended to walk everywhere.

Since I had been to Nuremberg before, I was familiar with finding my way around the older part by all the attractions. This place is steeped in history and many places should be seen. People are friendly and welcoming. The bakeries are not to be passed up! You can walk to so many places. Remarkable how this city was rebuilt after WWII. Check out the underground tunnels if you get the chance. Any restaurant I have been to is great. Don't let the language difference stop you for getting around, you won't regret coming to this city!

The flat was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable visit. The host was very welcoming and had thoughtfully provided little treats such as fresh fruits, complimentary coffee, and bottled water.
The location is very good - quiet yet conveniently close to the old town, shops, and restaurants. Communication with the host was smooth and easy, making check-in and check-out seamless and straightforward.
I would highly recommend this place for a comfortable and well-located stay in Nürnberg!
I stayed one night with my son during our travel to Berlin; very good hotel, that during the weekend applies the usual high standard for business travelleres to families; nice and modern structure in the city centre of Nurnberg, with garage; very nice staff and very good breakfast; the price is a little high but the standard of the hotel and its services justifies it. Recommended
The breakfast was nice; my son particularly rated the sausages. Breakfast was served from 6:30 am, which was very handy for us as we had a train to catch at 7:30. This hotel is especially suitable for people arriving and departing from Nürnberg by train. The city centre was also close. If we came again we might visit the railway museum, which is also nearby.
Comfortable rooms, although the carpets might like a bit more care while cleaning, the overall cleanliness was very good and I would definitely come back again if staying in Nurnberg. The hotel was around 45 min walking distance from the City Centre and there was public transport available as well. Good selection of food for breakfast.
Hotel is very close to the railway station and the old town. Good choice if you are looking to stay for visiting Christmas market. Underground parking is a plus. Rooms are roomy and quite. Kid friendly hotel. Staff is very friendly and accomodating
