We have been here in Sosua for one week. We stayed only two nights at Sosua Ocean Village after we canceled our Airbnb because it was horribly dirty. I do not feel this is a town for children. The ocean village is, but if you stay in Sosua and intend on going in to walk the city, etc, no. It's so busy, with random dogs and motorbikes and cars everywhere. The number of times we had to walk on the busy road over the sidewalk was countless.
Sosua Beaches waves are big, which is not a good place to swim. Playa Alicia was better, but there was lots of garbage washed up on the beach - tons of it. I don't know why it isn't cleaned up. You also have to pay to use the palapas and chairs. We had our own beach towels, so we did not take advantage. Sosua Beaches vendors hassle you a bit, and the prices are high. You should not pay more than 100 pesos - more like 50 for a fresh coconut. One vendor tried to charge me 300 pesos.
The restaurants are plentiful, and lots have great food and great prices. Take note of the two taxes they add! There is 18% tax and then a 10% tax that is a service tax = 28% TAX. I have read that this 10% does not all go to the server and can be kept by management or distributed amongst all staff, so be sure to leave a couple of extra dollars if the service is great.
The Ocean Village is beautiful, but where this condo is situated is not ideal. You want to be away from the workers coming in and all their loud motorbikes that they rev repeatedly. The ivory or peach condos would be better. We would never stay in this condo again based on its location. Good Luck!

Horrible, dirty, the rooms are old and dirty, the towels were broken, the toilet was not working, the floor was dirty and the bed was broken. Not to forget that the bed sheets were used. There was not water to shower and i felt like i was in prison or something similar

I have been to Sosua 5 times for the beach, Playa Alicia is my favorite. The restaurants were plentiful & all great and it is a very walkable town. The traffic is noisy and a bit dangerous but if you like local flavor its ok. There is an overwhelming amount of Prostitution, so not a good place for children. I wish it could be cleaned up because they have some of the best beaches I've ever seen.

Sosua has changed considerably over the past few years but it is still a good time with many things to do. The beach is very nice and the water is calm and clear and great for swimming. We ate at Mofongo King and also at Valero 108 and the food was delicious 😋

For the single male traveler who want s modern room close to everything, this is a perfect hotel. Price is a little high but the free bottled water and modern rooms help to overlook the price. Great location.

Wifi was not working good. No small towels.
Wifi was not working good. No small towels. No shampoo No conditioner. Tv was not working. No coffee No sugar No cream No mugs in room. No floor mat. Would really appreciate if there were some hand towels. No soap or no toilet paper. We had to ask for everything. These things should be in the room before hand.
we spent two nights at el mirador al mar while being on a road trip thru the dom. rep. and we absolutely loved it, its so calm up there on the hill, amazing view and only two driving minutes from downtown sosua.
great host, from the very first moment on they let us feel like being home, beautiful room and so proper, what we appreciated very much. breakfast was delicious and massimo the host cooked dinner for us including dessert all was homeade and soo yummy!! we will come back when visiting dom. rep. again!! tanti saluti
I really enjoyed my stay in Sosua at Monika's place! She was such a nice host and a lovely person in general, she was so helpful all of the time and making sure that everything was alright. The apartment is located in a calm and safe area and a nice quick walk if you want to get to the town center.
The place itself is also really beautiful, you have a pool surrounded by a garden with palm trees and you have your own apartment next to Monika's.
If I come back I would definitely stay again with her :))
The breakfast was fabulous, the place where it is located is amazing. it is a small but very cozy Hotel
One of the beaches is 5 steps from the Hotel. Has parking
The room very comfortable and complete and he customer service was very very good
An excellent impression of the treatment we received from the manager - Ricky Naranjo -
I'm in love with the Sosúa Ocean Village condo, especially the terrace overlooking the pool. It's my sanctuary, whether I'm savoring morning coffee by the ocean or stargazing in the Caribbean night sky. This space is the perfect mix of tranquility and luxury, where I've discovered solace and cherished unforgettable moments.
The hotel is located walking distance to everything and that was what i was looking for. My room had a small fridge for storing some food and water. There is a restaurant on site, you can get all meals there, you don't have to go far and the price were reasonable. I was able to watch a few NFL games at the restaurant.
The hotel is very close to the streets where everything happens at night. So location, location, location :)
I got a small room, I would like a bigger one, but I only stayed 1 night though... Nothing else to remark about the hotel, but it seemed girl-friendly for those who are into that.
Pros:
Great location. Meters from Pedro Caliente and all the main spots in Sosua within 5 minutes. 10 min walk to beach. 10 min walk to supermarket.
Secure
Shared kitchen with utensils
Hot water
They rent scooters
No vendors in the immediate area begging for money
This is my second time staying at Hotel Checo. The staff is very friendly. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The pool is very nice. They provided everything I needed for a long term stay in Sosua so, I decided to extend my stay in Hotel Checo.
The beaches were close and the view was great. At the same time, the weather did not allow swimming in the ocean, but the hotel cannot be blamed for that. The hotel did everything to ensure the safety of customers.
An excellent apartman in Sosua. The owner is a wonderful woman. She is very helpful. She made original italian dinner for us. The room was big and comfortable. We so sorry that we could stay only one night.
The hotel had a very relaxed atmosphere not that over the top feel of the more expensive hotels. The staff was friendly and the dinning excellent and very reasonably priced. I really enjoyed my stay.
The Hotel was very clean, the staff was friendly, Great location walking distance to everything. and the Free Breakfast was very good. already booked my next trip.
The breakfast was fine, lot of options, potable water at the reception, good wifi, close to the beach, however these were the only good things of this hotel.
Mr. Pablo has a lot hospitaliti n very attentive
