Lovely city full of life! Clean, safe, amazing restaurants, cafes, bakeries.
Great visits to the art museum (free!) and Cathedral (fee with a guide via QR code on your phone).
Just walking around the city gives good vibes.
Also a very big mall with food court in case you want to shop (or kill time on rainy days.)
Surrounding villages on the coast have amazing views and crazy high waves that crash into the cliffs.

The cleanest, friendliest city in Spain.
The cleanest, friendliest city in Spain. I have never seen so many council workers sweeping a city before, incredibly clean. A must visit for everyone. The architecture is incredible, old & new together but not clashing. Museums, art, history and great cafe/bars etc all within walking distance, no taxis required.

This is quite a large city with wide boulevards and modern business and shopping areas with a beautiful old centre at its core.
Good road and rail links for arrival and onward travel.
Old town and Cathedral are lovely areas to explore on foot. Excellent choice of restaurants and bars- traditional Spanish but also Italian / mediterranean cusine and some catering for vegetarians/vegans. Plenty of historic buildings and gallery and museums to visit.
Best experience- seeing a wedding party arrive and enter the Cathedral on Saturday morning- with traditional dress and musicians playing pipes and drums.
Sitting in the sunshine at a cafe watching the spectacle unfold. Followed by a late lunch in a cobbled, inner courtyard restaurant ,nearby. Perfect!

Oviedo is a very clean compact city easy to get around...
Oviedo is a very clean compact city easy to get around walking. There are many many restaurants and Cider houses serving excellent Asturian or European food at very attractive prices. The Menu del Dia in the reataurants of Calle Gascona ranged from 15 euros per person upwards which included bread and oil, starter, Main meal ,and dessert, with 2 bottles of cider and water, the quality of the food was excellent. Particularly enjoyed The Cathedral, the markets, the food market with great choice of cheese ,meats and fish and bread. San Francisco Park is beautiful to walk around any time of day or night and very safe. The city has a lovely ambiance.

A lovely Spanish city great place to just walk around. A lovely old town area and plenty of fantastic places to eat and drink also loads of places to shop for everything and anything you could possibly want.
A Great hotel is made by the staff. From those people at the reception desk to housekeeping staff. I really like Oviedo, and the staff made it a memorable trip. They bridged the gap in my lack of Español, and they are very nice humans.
The Fruela is a lovely hotel, and just up the street from the centre of the city, and lined with a number of nice restaurants, one of which is the Fruela's. If you go to Oviedo, stay at the Fruela.
The hotel is spectacular, with beautiful architecture and interiors. The staff were all polite, friendly and helpful and the central location is great for visiting Oviedo. We didn't manage to dine at the hotel restaurant, but tried the snack menu from the bar and the food was very good quality, so we would expect much more from the main restaurant. Booking to go back in the new year!
Paul is so nice and accommodating! Really went out of his way to be helpful! Contrary to what some of the reviews said and even the paper at check in the wifi was the fastest we had in Spain. It was about 15 Mbps which is pretty damn fast for the middle of the country side. Great location, quiet, beautiful land and very peaceful. Extremely comfortable bed and great room and bathroom.
Upsolutely excellent accommodation & staff! Thank you so much for a great experience! Reception were so lovely & accomodating and treated us so well! I highly recommend this hotel for location, staff, comfy clean beds & value for money! Right in the centre of Oviedo town! Thank you so much! X kindest regards, Michelle Rubiera
Great central location. Good parking and park area nearby. Short walk to old city, yet also only a few blocks from best gastronomy street. Astute recommendations from front desk people. Enjoyed the moderately-provisioned buffet breakfast. Surprisingly quiet area at night. Look forward to returning to this hotel again.
The room was super clean and very nice. The hotel is beautiful: quite close to Oviedo centre but still surrounded by nature and with a very nice view. Breakfast was included and very rich (and good). The host is very nice, kind, and helpful!
We really enjoyed our stay and we would definetly recommend it!
It was a dream hotel. The room was amazing, very large, with a huge bad… and a hole window wall. The bath tube was all you need after a long day walk… and you also have bath salt. I really loved it. The breakfast was amazing with a lot of choices and also a la carte if you want. Very good indeed.
Very nice room. The hotel was very clean. The staff were very helpful and polite. It was a 15 minute walk into the old town but there were plenty of bars and restaurants near the hotel. The local people in Oviedo were very nice as well.
This hotel is located right in the Center of Oviedo, it has modern decor and the staff are friendly.
The shower in the room had jets and was very nice, the bed was comfortable.
