Fantastic location, a 5 minute walk from the castle entrance. Good water pressure. Good sized room and bathroom. If it had been sunny while I was there, the outdoor area of the restaurant/bar would have been amazing.

Everything was good
Accommodation, staff, facilities
Surrounded by the crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea, the Spanish town of Peñíscola is a fortified seaport in the Castellón province. This attractive destination is a well-liked tourist resort thanks to its unique position on a rock and the gorgeous beaches.
Home to an iconic lighthouse and an impressive old town, the historic medieval city of Peñíscola will amaze you with its unique beauty and variety of outdoor activities. Apart from historical sites, it features wonderful beaches like Basseta Beach, the pebbled Argilaga Cove and the sandy Norte Beach.
Situated on the highest point of the city, the Castle used to be the residence of Pope Benedict XIII. The filming location of the epic movie ‘El Cid’, Peñíscola is about 145 km from the city of Valencia. The fort has three different entrances, built during different periods from the 15th-century until 1754.
Travellers can walk along the promenade area, wander around the green botanic park with the palm trees or visit a restaurant to savour local fish stew and shellfish. Booking.com will help you choose from a variety of hotels, apartments, guest houses and campsites in Peñíscola and the nearby cities of Alcossebre, Benicarló and Vinarós.

We visited in mid-March when Valencia and the nearby town of Benicarlo celebrate Las Fallas. Unfortunately the weather was terrible. We walked up to Peniscola old town and visited Papa Luna castle which crowns the headland. The old town is a maze of narrow streets, lined with tapas bars and restaurants with outdoor seating. Despite the rain, we had a really nice day. The south beach is very sheltered and looks good for swimming, especially with children. We shall return for sure.

Super town surrounding the castle.
Super town surrounding the castle. Lots of narrow streets full of restaurants and interesting shops. The castle is fabulous. The climb from the beach to the castle is quite do-able even for the oldies. Lots of steps but the grab rails were appreciated.

Some people might compare Peñiscola to Benidorm!
Some people might compare Peñiscola to Benidorm! We think it is nicer! It is very Spanish and not a beer-swilling English cafe in sight! Clearly, during the Summer, it is packed with families and very busy. Parking is very difficult to find and must be paid for between 10:00 - 14:00 and 17:00 21:00. The views from the Castle are wonderful and there are countless places to eat, some are surprisingly very good!

Good place to take a vacation, but… the late night or night...
Good place to take a vacation, but… the late night or night life is kinda dead. This is the 2nd time we come here. For relaxation and resting is the perfect place, not too much young people around that is also a fact maybe why the nightlife is dead, but theres Barcelona pretty close if you want something more for the night. What I would like to see in the future if we will come back some more pubs and fun places to play some pool or darts.. or some card games. Restaurants are everywhere and even if there more then 100 they almost serve the same food, which also is not a complain cause we love the food from here but it would be better to have more variety.
Overall we got what we wanted, relaxation, rest and warm sunny weather. It was good fun. I would definetly recommend it for someone who have never been here before!

We really enjoyed our two day stay.
We really enjoyed our two day stay. We walked around each of the areas and visited the castle and church. We thought the castle was an excellent experience - it is huge and very well maintained and excellent value for money. We were half board in our hotel but there are better places to eat out. We had a tasty lunch right by the sea. All staff were friendly smiley and helpful. We loved it.

Everything was perfect. It is located in the crag proper,, which makes it the perfect location. The view from the terrace is superb The only issue was that we arrived on the day of a local festivity (The Moors and the Christians) so access to the hotel was restricted and finding a parking space was painstaking but this has nothing to do with the hotel, An excellent option if you plan to visit Peniscola which is a lovely city to visit-it is definitely worth visiting!
We have stayed at Casa Juanita before and will do again it is in a most beautiful location up in the old town of Peñiscola near the castle . The little cobbled streets and the views over the sea are spectacular. Our delightful room had a French window, a little balcony and sea views on two sides simply gorgeous. It’s a traditional house pristinely clean and perfect for a short stay. We highly recommend it.
The room was small but had everything we needed for our one night stay in Peniscola, the hotel is right on the water, the beach was literally right across the street. It was so cute and quaint we couldn't have asked for better. The staff was super helpful and knowledgeable. Truly such a sweet hotel with an absolutely beautiful view and could not be closer to the beach!
The breakfast was good but as we were travelling it did not open until 8.00am. The tables were set out very nicely.
The location of the hotel was good next to the hotel Peniscola palace we normally use.
But it was closed until march.
Small family run Bed and Breakfast excellent facilities for a B&B and room bigger than most hotel rooms in Spain. 5 minutes to Peniscola by car.
Would definitely return if coming to Peniscola again.
