We have spent two hours in this village. We walked through a few streets, enjoyed the panoramic view over the river, visited the old Romanesque church, checked an antiquarian book shop (where our kids bought some English books), and stopped for pancakes in Gourmandises Café (with nice personnel and tasty food). We liked the atmosphere, which felt simultaneously historic and relaxed. One feels like in a fairy tale in this village. Fortunately, there were not many tourists at the end of October (despite the fall school vacations in France). In particular, one could easily park their car in the village without any difficulty. Then we continued our journey to the Marqueyssac gardens...

Domme was a wonderful city - close to sites, but quieter than many other popular cities in the area. We found wonderful restaurants within walking distance of our hotel. The view from the esplanade is amazing!

Charming midieval town, built on a STEEP hill.
Charming midieval town, built on a STEEP hill. Wonderful restaurants are nearby, especially if you have car. Domme's market and nearby Sarlat's are a fun source of souvenirs. We found driving to sites (ancient caves, other interesting towns) to be stressful. Many were nearly an hour away through narrow, winding, mountain roads that went through mostly agricultural areas and tiny towns that seemed closed up.

Stunning views of the Dordoyne river & Medieval landscapes.
Stunning views of the Dordoyne river & Medieval landscapes. Quaint & characteristic, it had a beautiful, quiet atmosphere. The locals seemed so gentle, patient & kind. The various shops had locally made produce & delicious ice creams.
Beautiful Medieval architecture. It had a very old world, take it slow, feel. We loved it.

The entire Dordogne River Valley is beautiful and there's a lot to do and see. I would be hesitant about going during high season, however, because I can imagine that it gets mobbed with tourists. Mid- to late-May seems perfect.
Very comfortable cottage with ideal location in one of the cutest villages in Southwest France. Tons of charm! Superior master suite in cellar, plus two bedrooms upstairs. Well appointed kitchen, comfortable courtyard with table and sofas. Also, dozens of sights within an hours drive. Castles, caves, beautiful countryside, forests, food, friendly locals, market days in every town, float trips on the Dordogne River. Spent 3.5 weeks here, it felt like heaven.
This is a unique property. It is more like a bed & breakfast than a hotel. That is, the atmosphere is informal, and you have the opportunity to interact with your hosts and the other guests. Our room was extremely comfortable, including a marvelous bed. There are many places to sit from which to enjoy beauty of the natural surroundings. Our host Jane cooked an exquisite meal for us on one of the evenings of our stay.
Maison Maleville is a great base to explore the rest of Dordogne. Just being in Domme is the right decision but having a host like Bertrand who is invested in making sure you have a great stay, makes it even better. Get dinner at L'Esplannade with nice views and awesome food. There is a nice market 200 feet away on Thursdays which has local foie gras, cheese and much more.
Exceptional breakfast with homemade jams , cakes and smoothies. A lot of care in everything!
Incredibly nice location with stunning views on the village. Gorgeous and very tastefully decorated house with plenty of room.
Nicole is very thoughtful and makes your stay very enjoyable; she made daily itenararies for us, recommended restaurants and made reservations for dinner.
Perfectly decorated 14th century house, amazing hosts, delicious food, great location, dreamy ambiance. We felt as if we were locals living in our own home at Domme. Domme is magical and Les Petits Cousins Du Quebec makes it more magicial, can’t wait to come back! Thank you guys, it was geat to meet you!!!
The owners were extremely accommodating and allowed us to set our own hours as to when breakfast was available. The room was private with its own terrace from which the town of Domme can be seen on top of a hill. The landscaping around the property is very lush and gorgeous in the springtime.
The location is perfect. Domme is a small town and you can walk to everything. Breakfast was not included but we had a kitchen and easily purchased coffee, milk, etc. for the morning. The hosts are friendly and available if needed.
Lovely location with the best view in the Dordogne, of the Dordogne. Sweet terrace overlook. Easy free street parking in April. Market on Thursday with 1E coffee. Very helpful staff. Room was a very good value.
Everything! After 20+ years of renting for holidays in the Dordogne….. this was the absolute best property yet. We will definitely return. The house, the views, the pool, the two minute walk into Domme. Amazing.
The hosts, Jane and Duncan, were warm, welcoming and helpful. The setting is beautiful and tranquil. Wonderful breakfasts and Jane's dinners rivaled fine restaurants. And the resident pets were friendly and fun.
The amount of space, bathrooms and kitchen were perfectly adequate for our 5 night stay. Parking was easy. Restaurants and grocery we're within walking distance. Our hosts were lovely.
The house is situated in the middle of Domme ,which is a very beautiful village overlooking the Dordogne and you have shops, restaurants and bistrots within easy walking distance.
The location was perfect with amazing views and a short walk to the centre of Domme. The garden was amazing including a lively pool and hot tub. The breakfast was excellent too
Wonderful family run hotel. The service, food and view are outstanding. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.
