We have visited Cavalaire sur Mer several times and this was our first visit for over 7 years. It hadn't changed much, we could wander around the streets that we knew so well. The beach is amazing with beautiful sand. We found our favourite bar on the front overlooking the harbour and enjoyed a drink just relaxing and taking in the surroundings. The Wednesday market is also well worth a visit as it is quite a good size with many different things to look at. There is a hotel right on the front which sells beautiful crepes with a wonderful view of the sea front, what else could you ask for.

Cavalaire-sur-Mer the hidden gem.
Cavalaire-sur-Mer the hidden gem.
The French Riviera is often associated with Nice, Cannes, and not least Saint Tropez - I have been to all these places.
All these places are also associated with "celebrities" - but I have to ask myself - what do these celebrities think is so great about these places?
Personally, I don't like queuing in a city, neither when it comes to parking, nor going to shops or restaurants..... you do that in these 3 cities - it's nothing but total chaos, where even restaurant tables are placed far out into the streets, so if you're lucky enough to get a table at a restaurant, you'll have "470" people pass you by before you've been served so much as a glass of water - THAT'S what I call not pleasant.
Cavalaire-sur-Mer, was a very nice little town, with just the right relaxed atmosphere, walking along the harbor promenade surrounded by just the right amount of people, a lot of great and good restaurants, with enough space to get your peace wanted, while you were not the only guest at the restaurant, they were reasonably full.
It was such a pleasant experience that we have already decided that HERE is where we want to return.

Detailed description of contactless and easy check-in, great location close to restaurants, on a beach great for swimming and paddle boarding. There was even a fireworks show one evening over the Bay and an aqua aerobics class in the ocean the next morning. Absolutely recommend this place!

Beautiful sandy beach. Good for kids.
Beautiful sandy beach. Good for kids.
Pampelonne beach might be more fun but Cavalaire has its flair and is a great destination for a relaxing vacation.
Two beach chairs and an umbrella cost from €32 to €45 for day but that's cote-d'azur for you.

This is a busy resort, used mostly by French people.
This is a busy resort, used mostly by French people. There are often attractions at weekends. When we were there a Jazz Festival, a speed boat weekend and open air ballroom dancing on the plaza. A wide choice of eating places and catering establishments where you can buy ready made meals to eat at home.

The perfect flat for the perfect holiday.
When I am on holiday, I not plan to stay all day in a flat or hotelroom, so for me a flat/room are a place to stay at night.
This flat are in a quiet area, it have a nice balcony with rolldown sun/wind shades on all sides, making it the perfect place at the evening to sit outside with one of the local vines undisturbed from anyone to even see you so you can get total privacy.
The walk distance from city center are about 3 minutes
It was self catering. The apartment was kitted out with everything you could want, even a kettle, which us unusual in France. The apartment was very clean and comfortable with a lovely patio to sit out on even if it was raining you could get underneath the balcony of the villa above. The bed was a good size and very comfortable. There was even a washing machine in the bathroom for us to use and plenty of storage places for clothes etc.
The property is located right on the seafront opposite the marina and beach. We have stayed at Les Alizes a number of times in previous years and this year a few changes and a bit of a facelift and staffing improvements have transformed the hotel. Will look forward to a revisit. As motorcyclists we particularly appreciated the underground secure parking.
Perfect little apartment, very compact but well equipped. Good location and there seems to be a bus down to and back from the beach. Thanks to Benjamin and Patrice for all their help, great hosting. A slight issue with the WiFi code resolved by Patrice: for future reference it's all in lower case!
What really sets this hotel apart is it’s location. The view is just amazing. A sea view room is a must. We had a suite with a huge terrace and a hot tub. Dinner at the hotel was really good and the staff is friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. I only wish we could have stayed longer.
Nice and Cozy lodging, which was perfect for our trip through South France. Near the small city center and the Port, ideal for taking nice walks!
Additionally, Florian, the host of this accomodation, is a very friendly person, who was immediately there for everything we needed! :) Thanks again!
Located away from the crowded town center and a few minutes walking from one of the most beautiful little beaches I've seen. The pool area was very nice and quiet with cicadas providing a lovely sound ambience. Very nice self contained appartament with a kitchenette. We liked it a lot.
Excellent value for money option. Very clean, cozy and convenient, fully equipped with all kitchen stuff etc. Very friendly and helpful owner. The location is great: restaurants, supermarkets, center are 5 minutes walking distance and the beach is 15 minutes by foot.
Wonderful find. Zero complaints and only compliments. People are lovely and hotel is a great place to stay.
Good bed, good linen, good bathroom and good towels.
