We loved the location, it was peaceful and clean and very close to the beautiful beach. A car is definitely necessary to get out and about, especially for shopping. There are plenty of pleasant and interesting towns surrounding the area and also further afield. One needs to be prepared to drive pretty much everywhere. If you want hustle and bustle this is not the place for you, especially out of season...this was what appealed to us.

    Unspoilt and not overly touristic.

Unspoilt and not overly touristic. Beautiful countryside and lovely beaches. The people are friendly. It's a place to relax, go native, enjoy proper good seafood (be sure to take a trip to Pirou where they sell fresh oysters and lots of other seafood in a dispensing machine!! A perfect place for a long weekend. Coutances is a short drive where there are many churches, a cathedral, bars, restaurants, cake shops etc.
