Gujan-Mestras is not a particularly lively or beautiful village, Arcachon is much nicer, but it has its really nice parts: the costal area with great, very authentic oyster restaurants and oyster farms; the ornithological reservation; beautiful walk along the coast to an interresting area plage de la Hume etc...

It was very handy to visit the nature reserve at Le Tech.
It was very handy to visit the nature reserve at Le Tech. The restaurants in the port area were excellent. Did not have time for any other visits, but I would think that traffic could be a problem at the height of the tourist season.

Better than expected and nicer than photos. Very close to all the Gujan-Mestras oyster restaurants and lovely balcony overlooking water.
