I stayed in late December, so not generally ideal for tourists. Don't be put off if you need to travel in winter. This is a great little town and surrounding area. It is full of history and character with very friendly locals. Shops are well-stocked with some intriguing items for sale. The centre of town is generally traffic free but there is plenty of free public parking on the fringe of the island. There are plenty of health services, beauty services and even a hospital. The Thursday market should not be missed. The town changes character in the late afternoon when locals come out into the last of the winter sun for their aperitifs. I was sad to leave and plan to return soon.

A lovely little town - the Venice of Provence!
A lovely little town - the Venice of Provence! Big enough to offer a variety of things to do and small enough to explore over a few days watch out for Sundays - it's packed with people for the antique market and all car parking spaces disappear. Some wonderful restaurants and small shops and well located for exploring the Luberon.

If you don't need to wash your clothes, this is a great choice - in a convenient central location and nicely decorated rooms. But, there was no washing machine as described online and we were told to go to a 15min-away laundromat that could take credit card, but there was no way to pay by credit card. free parking in several nearby public parking places.

Charming village; busy and colourful Sunday market; beautiful weather. Plenty of bistros and restaurants. Infrequent public transport: it is important to obtain the SNCF railway timetable and the 906 bus service timetable (and read them carefully!).

This is a medieval town built on an island in a gorgeous spring-fed river. As the river reaches town, it splits at least 5 ways, going in double paths around both sides, witt other old little canals up the middle. There used to be 70 mills in town, and there are still over a dozen big old mill wheels in operation. The town is big enough to have lots of food and shopping choices (and major antique center) and small and fortunate enough to have free parking. Most areas are pedestrian only. Renting bikes, seeing cute neighboring towns, seeing Fountaine Vaucluse, renting canoes to go down the river. . .
Great place!

The beauty and prettiness - wow this town has to be seen to be believed.
Put your feet into the coolness of the crystal clear rivers that run through the heart of the city - visit the beautiful amazing antique stores and enjoy the amazing produce and brocante markets - eat at Cafe de France - wonderful town with so much energy. Also had a great supermarket opposite main water wheel - great wine selection.

This is the 4th time we have stayed at this hotel. Excellent location. Short walk to center of town and one of the best bakeries in France. The female employee from Romania or Hungary was outstanding. She was very friendly, efficient, and helpful. One other employee was not as helpful. The room was of decent size. The secured parking was an added bonus that was very important to us. We arrived early and they were able to store our luggage until our rooms were ready.
The hotel is small and charming & walking distance to everything.
My first room was great, bed…everything.
My 2nd room was very hot because AC is around a corner by door so is not efficient in cooling room.
Also, the beds not as comfortable as room #1.
The staff were very nice & enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the restaurant. The wine bar “over” the river is unique & spectacular. I will definitely go back & recommend this hotel to others. Thank you, julie
The property is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at.
The rooms are large, well appointed, amazing facilities, yet quiet and boutique to provide personalised service.
Our experience was especially valuable when the team helped us changing our plans the night before the stay to accommodate for a family emergency and then revert it back when it got resolved. I didn’t really expect it but was amazed with the treatment we received, to say the least.
The hotel was typically Provencal, beautifully appointed. We had a lovely bedroom & bathroom & separate walk-in wardrobe, so plenty of room. Very good breakfast. We did not dine at the hotel but at their other restaurant Cafe Fleurs which was very good. Athough there is no parking at the hotel, the 150yds or so to the carpark was perfectly fine, plus it was free. There was always a place for us.
All in all, a wonderful small hotel on the river Sorgue. The grounds were immaculate, the breakfasts outstanding, and the staff extremely helpful. I stayed there during Easter weekend, the same time as the massive antique fair that goes on each year in L'Isle sur-la-Sorgue and the hotel was the perfect place to retreat to after a long day of antique shopping. Could not be a better location
Authentic, beautiful Provence-style stay just outside L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Run by Catherine, a friendly, hospitable, and passionate local, helping with tips for discovering Provence and knowing its history. After you try and Catherine‘s breakfast, you would want to come back for sure.
The location for visiting this town and others in Provence was quite excellent. Parking was easy in a lot 2 minutes away. The property was perfect with everything anyone might need while on holiday and more. I was able to get a proper cup of coffee for myself in the morning.
The location was absolutely charming and the hostess Catherine great.
Very central, easy parking and everything on foot.
We only used the car for excursions to Avignon and les Baux de Provence. Our experience was greatly enriched by Catherine's suggestions.
The hotel is lovely in the reception area but the rooms need redecorating in a big way ! very old and dark brown .
the restaurant staff are quite rude!!! And I spoke France which they did not no soooo I could under stand the rude things they were saying.
Maison Piloni is a 4 bedroom, bed and breakfast, centrally located and owned by a lovely couple. They take pride in their home and are very welcoming and helpful. The location is perfect to walk to the central part of town.
Outstanding hospitality and quite resilient host. Good location, city is beautiful, good basis for having further trips. We loved it, when we return to provence, we will choose the same accomodation.
Luxurious, felt like it was recently refurbished. Friendly staff, great location in this beautiful, classy town in the Provence. there is a high-end café next door, sharing part of the property.
We were impressed by interiors in the hotel as well as in the room (we stayed in Cezanne room), really beautiful, it greatly adds to the experience from observing L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue
