This was a second visit to Puy-l’Évêque And there will be more as the location of the town is so perfect. Intriguing side streets that you never really feel you’ve got the measure of and each street seems to end with a surprise as a consequence. The only downside is the number of shops that look as if they’ve been empty for a very long time and may never be occupied again. It’s a shame as I can’t imagine that the town isn’t incredibly busy in the summer months and I wonder why they aren’t doing really well!

A fantastic town in an out of the way part of France.
A fantastic town in an out of the way part of France. We arrived on the last day of their fete. Great to see a town having a good time. We went to a small restaurant worked by one amazing lady. Cheap and great food. Beautiful as it looks in the photos. Do make time to go and visit.

We rented an apartment as we felt Puy L'Eveque was a fairly central location for the places we wanted to see and having nearly two weeks we could take our time doing it and even had a couple of lazy days in the apartment doing nothing.
It is a pretty little medieval village and has the perfect mix of quietness but with just enough going on to keep it interesting. Friendly people, great facilities and excellent restaurants so everything you need.
The view from the room was really something special; from right across to the horizon and up and down the Lot. We watched a tremendous sunset. The room itself is pleasant enough! But you spend most of your time looking outside as opposed to around at the slightly basic interior. The dinner was very good indeed as was the breakfast. Genial host who is clearly a great character! The hotel is situated handily for both the low and high parts of this beautiful town and seems very convenient as a consequence.
Good restaurant for enjoying a lovely menu of the day on the garden terrace. The hotel restaurant is open all day and evening, so it is easy to obtain food and drink when most other venues are closed. Well located close to the centre for sightseeing. The hotel has a designated car park but plenty of free parking directly opposite. All round good value option for enjoying what this pretty town has to offer.
La Truffiere is a 2 stars hotel right on the main road arriving in Puy-lʼÉvêque.
We arrived there at dinner time and we also had dinner there.
Our room was a bit dated but clean and comfortable, with private bathroom. Rates were ok.
We didn't have breakfast.
The staff was friendly.
There's parking in front of the hotel.
They have 2 big dogs which are very friendly.
Location, size of the room, lift, view from the terrasse. Restaurant looked lovely, but we did not try it. The nice hotel owners struggle with missing staff....
