Known for colourful nightlife and traditional English seaside pursuits, Brighton and neighbour Hove are the closest beach resorts to London, making them popular end points for classic car runs from the capital. Many end at the racecourse, a few streets from Brighton Marina, Europe’s largest, housing several shops and eateries. Many Brighton guest houses on Booking.com are also nearby.
Running along the beachfront is the world’s oldest operating electric railway, ending by Brighton Pier. Lit up at night and also known as Palace Pier, this city icon houses amusements and rides, and is one place to pick up some famous Brighton Rock, the confectionery sharing its name with an edgy Graham Greene novel set here.
A new addition, the Brighton Wheel is right by the pier, while one of its most famous attractions is the Royal Pavilion, a former royal retreat built in Indian style.
Just west are 2 of the most popular Brighton shopping spots – Churchill Square shopping centre and The Lanes with its narrow streets and unusual shops. This area also has several Brighton hotels with parking, and the Artists Quarter, a series of ex-fishing huts that are now galleries. The arts are a big thing here and Brighton Festival is the UK’s 2nd largest arts festival, while Brighton Pride is also a big event on the annual calendar.
It was vibrant and lively. The Lanes were busy and full of interesting shops.
There were plenty of buses. It’s very expensive to park near the centre as expected. £11 for 2hrs in The Lanes car park.
The Pavilion was well worth a visit. Enjoyed a tasty meal at Wahaca. Needed more time to explore all the other attractions.

I've been visiting Brighton since I was a child and always find something to enjoy. For the last few years I've had friends who live here which is an added bonus. I love the sea, the Pavilion, the Lanes and always have a good time, with or without my friends.
As a bus user I have to say the information on buses has become harder and harder. For example, arriving at the stops on Old Steine there were no bus numbers on any of the stops, no info on screen except 'read the timetables' and incomplete timetables in the bus shelter, so I had to check the route with the driver before I got on.

WONDERFUL CITY!!
WONDERFUL CITY!! Kemptown is vibrant & colorful as well as nearby beach. Pier is also close by & buses are frequent everywhere. Short walk to Pavillion (take the tour) & Pavilion Gardens behind are lovely!
You can get a bus or taxi to the South Downs with stunning views south of the sea and north to South Downs National Park.

A great place for young people, plenty of night life, but difficult to find any evening entertainment for under 18s (most venues not allowing 17 year-olds in, even if accompanied by a parent). Bus services are frequent on most routes but stops can be a long way apart and some parts of the city are surprisingly lacking in bus routes (e.g. the sea front past the i360). Taxis are plentiful at ranks but don't rely on booking one.

Brighton is one of our favourite places. So much to do. So much choice of food, drink and entertainment. Like London's West End but on the seaside and not as expensive (although not cheap either!). Had a lovely meal at Constantinople too.

Our stay at Ibis Brighton was good: the room was clean, and the hotel is located in a nice area from where you can go around the city just walking. Also the experience with parking was good: the parking the hotel suggest you is 5 minutes walking from the hotel, you can park your car there and at the end of the stay they will apply 50% discount if you show them the reservation.
A very nice welcome and late check-in arranged without problems. Parking permit available to purchase for cheap street parking nearby.
Room very comfortable and spacious.
Very convenient for Brighton beach, city centre and entertainment venues. Plenty of dining options nearby. Local church nearby with very friendly people.
The best staff and hotel in Brighton. We always go to this hotel, it's very clean and neat , quite , nice helpful staff, very decent breakfast with fresh fruits and fruit yogurts etc and included in the price. All that plus the best view and location. 20 seconds away from the beach and 360 tower.
Budget hotel in Brighton with parking which is a rarity. We ended up having to change dates and the hotel were very accommodating. Friendly staff on reception. Room was clean with everything we needed
Breakfast is excellent. Best location: sea front and town center. Parking in Brighton is very pricey, but the hotel offers discount for over night nearby parking.
