Located 44 km from Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club, The Royal Hotel Tain offers 3-star accommodation in Tain and features a shared lounge, a restaurant and a bar.

Jim who works at reception and everywhere else was very warm and welcoming...was well suited for this type of job . We enjoyed having some drinks in the lounge, the person who served us was friendly and helpful, sorry I didn't catch his name, but he was very nice. Breakfast in the morning was exceptional for my husband, he chose the full breakfast, and was not disappointed in any way..

A 500-year-old converted Scottish castle, this hotel is set in the centre of Durnoch, opposite a 13th-century cathedral.

Lovely old castle hotel - being so old there are compromises like walking up 2 flights of steps. A great character and the majority of the staff at desk, restaurant and bar were exceptional Al.

Wonderful place, wonderful location. You need lots of adjectives to describe this place, so here goes! The lawn in front of the hotel is impressive, the terrace in front is stylish, and then the marvelous lobby, the splendid restaurant, the outstanding bar, wow! Andf then we hadn't even seen the absolutely stunning billiards room, so lush and so incredibly stylish, wow! The staff were accomodating, the à la carte breakfast was great (it took some time to prepare). The environment walking though the golf course to the sea, this was a great experience from A to Z. Recommended!

It is quiet, but there is only a pub, which does not serve evening meals every day. There are no shops. All the buildings are similar and rather drab in appearance. You had to go by car to get anything.
