Great location in the city centre. Staff friendly. Breakfast was really nice and lots of options. Value for money for what we paid. We also like this hotel as there is plenty of spaces to sit in the reception and bar area.

The hotel is in a beautiful woodland setting with it's own fish pond and nature trail. The hotel itself is lovely, and the staff is all happy, and eager to help guests enjoy their stay. We booked a Classic double, but on check-in were upgraded to a complimentary Privilege room. This was a first for us, and it as much appreciated to have the bugger and better appointed room.

Partially within the Peak District, Sheffield is best known for being the setting of ‘The Full Monty’, a film whose title means the whole works. Indeed, vibrant Sheffield has the whole works - excellent shopping, great nightlife and an impressive sporting heritage.
It first came to fame during the Industrial Revolution for its pioneering role in the UK steel industry. One technique invented here is commemorated in the name of its most famous theatre – The Crucible, home of the Snooker World Championships.
Close by are the peaceful Winter Gardens with their multi-arched roof. The Peace Gardens are overlooked by the elegant town hall, and the focal building of the impressive Botanical Gardens somewhat resembles Crystal Palace, also by the same architect.
The city’s 2 football teams – Sheffield United and Wednesday – play at Bramall Lane and Hillsborough Stadium respectively. The cutting-edge English Institute of Sport is also based here, and the nearby Sheffield Arena is a prime UK venue for music and entertainment. The best shopping is found in the Meadowhall Centre near Rotherham.
Booking.com’s Sheffield accommodation includes city centre hotels with parking, others by Victoria Train Station, and guest houses near Doncaster Sheffield Robin Hood Airport.
Lived here many years ago. Despite the guts having been ripped out of the city, the surrounding countryside remains unharmed.
Far too much emphasis on students and minorities rather than the ordinary people of Sheffield for my liking.

I came to Sheffield with my best friend.
I came to Sheffield with my best friend.
We had tickets for the morning and evening sessions of the snooker, at The Crucible theatre. This was a great experience for a lifelong fan. Security was strict, and you must put your small backpacks etc. in the cloakroom, but this is thankfully free.
The city is peaceful, compared to other Northern cities. We felt very safe throughout our trip. Tudor Square and The Winter Gardens are pleasant locations to watch the snooker, or maybe even see some players/presenters etc.
The city is quite hilly. Fine if you are fit. If not, maybe give yourself a bit more time compared to the estimated walking times on Google maps.
From a previous visit, with my partner. Their Chinatown is great, and the museums are varied and interesting.
This time we just ate at pubs. They were all fairly priced.

A compact town centre with the International swimming pool...
A compact town centre with the International swimming pool close by and The Crucible for snooker including a live outdoor screen for public viewing. Plenty going on. The super tram is a great way to get around (free to those with free bus passes) and the trip to Meadowhall shopping centre or Ikea takes around 15 minutes.

Went to Crucible for the snooker.
Went to Crucible for the snooker. The venue is amazing atmosphere. One of the nicest snooker venues I've ever been. They have large outside seating area on the green, with huge tv, so you can watch the snooker outside, even if you have no tickets. Loads of pubs and restaurants. Piccolinos Italian restaurant was fabulous. As was Brown's bar. The winter gardens were tiny, you can walk through it in 5 mins, and nothing much to see in there. The market stalls and crafts were cool. Really beautiful grounds around the crucible. Lots of green natural spaces, and fountains for kids to play in. There were lots of rodents in the winter gardens (mice), and quite a few big rats, at night, in the outside gardens. I think they are attracted to all the foliage. It was fascinating watching them borrow and pop their heads out, like little moles!

Beautiful city with many outdoor activities.
Beautiful city with many outdoor activities. The Sheffield Botanical Gardens are lovely with much to see. There were many varied very good restaurants and pubs to visit. We loved the extensive public transit system, the City Centre, the weekend long extensive farmers market and the old-world architecture found throughout the city!

I had a couple of hours to kill on a quick conference trip...
I had a couple of hours to kill on a quick conference trip and spent them very enjoyably in Weston Park and its museum and art gallery. Lots of local information (including a lot on wildlife and where to see it), and shelves of relevant books in some of the galleries - an unusual and commendable touch. Sheffield is very hilly to walk around, but the people are very pleasant and friendly.

I wanted a single room which they had. This worked out much cheaper than the average hotel, especially as it included city centre parking and a nice breakfast. It's a short walking distance to eateries.
This place is no frills but it had everything I needed. It was very clean, well kept, and friendly, helpful staff. It was quiet and relaxing.
I'd definitely stay again.
Great location for a gig at the Leadmill and for walking around the city centre. We’ve stayed in another Leonardo, in Glasgow, and this is a much better quality hotel than that. Clean, tidy, secure. We’d happily recommend based on our experience.
Comfy and clean rooms. A bit of a walk from city centre but obviously not the hotels fault, owners were amazing, booked us cheap cabs, accommodated an extra bed and sorted us out. Definitely recommend
Check inn staff lady was really very nice and professional help the questions and support. Hotel location is very good in center of Sheffield City Centre.
Great value for money but not much cheaper than some of the city centre hotels that might have had more facilities, space in the room and comfort levels
