Information correct at time of writing. Less than 200 yards from the cottage is the The Devonshire Arms offering a variety of dining options with local produce from the Estate. The Peak District is one of the best destinations for walking in the UK. There are countless routes and trails for all types of ability. Often named the UK’s favourite country house, Chatsworth House is just 2 miles from the cottage. You could spend a day exploring the house itself, but spare time to wander around the gardens too – all 105 acres of them! The Heights of Abraham just outside of Matlock is a hilltop park reached by cable car, with cavern tours, walking trails, fossil exhibitions and cafe. The town of Bakewell sits on the banks of the River Wye. The culinary home of the famous bakewell pudding, make sure to stop by the Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop to stock up on tasty treats. Haddon Hall offers a wonderful day out, with elegant gardens and a perfectly kept house that dates back to the Middle Ages.
