Great location in the centre of Southwold. A beautiful building with so much history and the room was comfortable and spacious for a building of this age. Amenities excellent and new, modern bathroom was a nice touch. We didn’t eat at the attached restaurant, but it looked very good!

I like Southwold and although I'd not been in years it was nice to revisit and thankfully still a destination I'd return to again. It was the first time my husband had been there and he admitted he wouldn't mind going back again as well.

    Like going back in time.

Like going back in time. Such nice people in shops and restaurants. The area seems to attract polite people, happy to pass the time of day. The area is gorgeous, the architecture and history fascinating. My husband has mobility problems but I felt absolutely safe walking the prom in the evening alone. I don’t know why it took me so long to find Southwold but could move in tomorrow. Shout out too to the street cleaners (not a jot of rubbish) and those cleaning the public loos who are a credit to the town.

The high street has loads of independent shops and is very picturesque. Loads to do. Beautiful streets to wander around - very photogenic. Coincidentally, it was the beginning of Southwold Arts Week so lots of extra entertainment.

Great place to visit, surrounded by many other interesting places. I’ve visited many times at different times of year. There’s always cafes open and people to watch. On the pier there’s the quirky under the pier show, an arcade of unique slot machines created by the amazing inventor Tim Hunkin. It’s lovely to walk along the beach if the weather is kind and there are many independent shops. We were there during a heatwave and the refreshing east coast seabreeze was lovely.

The honesty and friendliness of the staff. This is a very affordable hotel with owners trying their very best to upgrade and improve facilities. It’s two star so you know what to expect but it absolutely meets expectations and is handy to access all that Southwold offers on foot.

As i have stayed at the Randolph under the Previous ownership which was always good, i was very impressed with Everything. (the new owners had revamped the rooms. As with most hotels in Southwold area, as the buildings are usually listed, they do not have lifts

The property is a good location. We like this side of Southwold as it is close to the high street and also the common / sand dunes. It has a small garden which we wanted as we took a small dog. We wanted 2 double rooms, which this property had.
