Just a short drive away is Bakuriani, a charming mountain resort that's also well worth a visit, especially if you're into skiing or enjoying fresh mountain air. You can easily plan a trip from 1 to 3 days depending on your interests. There are plenty of hotels and spa resorts to choose from, and the beautifully maintained parks make this area perfect for a relaxing and refreshing getaway. Great destination for families with kids particularly in spring and summer. Get ready to walk a lot and enjoy fresh and oxygenated air during your stay in Borjomi. Food is mainly very tasteful at local restaurants, but same prices as in big cities of Georgia. We enjoyed our food in several places: Old Borjomi, My house, Pesvebi, Plato and Inka. I visited in September and do not recommend it, as it is considered off-season. We were taken to the flower garden, only to discover it empty of blooms.The lack of color in the garden was disheartening, and it felt particularly disappointing after our anticipation. We had envisioned vibrant landscapes filled with bursts of floral beauty, but instead, we wandered through wilted foliage and overgrown weeds. The once-promised splendor was nowhere to be found. The locals mentioned that it might be better to visit during peak blooming months, which made me realize how our timing was tragically off. There were still a few shriveled remnants of flowers, their faded petals a haunting reminder of what could have been. Moreover, the lack of tourists in the area gave it an eerie vibe, as many attractions seemed closed or under maintenance. Dining options were limited as well, with only a handful of restaurants operating, which might work for those seeking a quiet getaway but left us craving variety and atmosphere. In hindsight, I can see the charm of the destination, but I'd recommend planning your visit for the lively spring or summer months when the gardens truly come alive. A Message to Tourism Workers in Georgia To all the staff working at airports, ticket stations, and tourist attractions in Georgia, I would like to express my admiration for your beautiful country, Tbilisi, and its friendly people who understand and welcome tourists. However, I have noticed a recurring issue that I believe deserves attention: the way some tourists from Arab countries are treated. I have personally experienced and heard from others about instances where Arab tourists felt unwelcome or received unfriendly treatment. This has made me wonder about the reasons behind such behavior. After conducting some research, I found that this seems to be a cultural accumulation rather than an isolated incident. As a tourist, I want to emphasize that we visit your country to enjoy its beauty and culture. We come with respect and appreciation for your hospitality. Therefore, I urge you to always greet us with a smile and a willingness to help. Learning some basic English can also greatly enhance the experience for both tourists and locals. It saddened me to encounter unwelcoming attitudes from some individuals, such as a certain airport officer and a ticket vendor at the Batumi Botanical Garden. It felt as if they were questioning why we were there. Choosing friendly and English-speaking staff can make a significant difference in how tourists perceive Georgia. Remember, tourists bring value to your country, and a warm and helpful attitude will encourage more people to visit and appreciate Georgia. This advice comes from a loving Egyptian who holds great respect and affection for your country. The guesthouse is very well situated, way from noisy Borjomi, with very nice hiking trails near by, possibility to ride horses. It is easy to reach Borjomi by taxi or bus, and Pavel has very good contacts to get taxis for a good price and explore the region.
