Agra isn't a big city but don't make the traditional mistake of just seeing the Major attractions. Walk the streets, especially the back streets. You'll find artisans of all kinds producing the wares sold as small keepsakes, leather work, all the way up to huge inlaid marble items such as tables. Watching these artisans produce the finest pieces gives a reall appreciation of the work, not only of what they're producing but of the major architecture.

Absolutely amazing to visit the Taj Mahal and was very impressed by the other buildings framing the grounds and garden of the Taj!
The fort is equally stunning and grand and the Baby Taj is gorgeous.
I had a drink at the Two Saints which is really nice but quite expensive.
I ate three nights at the Varenyam restaurant near the west gate of the Taj. Very tasty and reasonably priced. Ask to eat on the 1st floor terras if you want to eat non vegetarian!

Agra takes you back to the Mughal days and it's worth visiting it because of its architecture. Apart from the Taj (which I can't describe enough), Agra fort (with all its history and grandeur), there's Itmad ud daula (also called baby Taj, but I think its gross injustice to call it so, given its architectural splendor), Sikandra (Akbar's tomb) - a beautiful place and the calmness & humbleness of the cabin where the emperor lies asleep will touch you and can connect you to the great emperor of India known for his inclusiveness and patronage to art, literature & philosophy. And of course, Fatehpur Sikri (we visited it during our earlier visits to Agra) - who can beat that?
