Location is oceanfront and convenient. Restaurant options are just a short walk from the property and easy walk into the heart of Portoferraio. If you are coming by ferry from the mainland it is just a quick drive to the property. Our room was a small suite with a separate sitting area. We had a balcony in each room overlooking the ocean. Each balcony had a clothesline which was perfect since we needed to wash out some of our travel clothes. There is parking available at the property. Breakfast buffet offered pastries and cereals but you could order eggs and bacon if you wanted that. They did offer a dinner menu but we never ate there so I cannot comment on the quality. They have a lovely outdoor garden seating area. They had a bar in the lobby area.

The location was exceptional: right in the middle of the city surrounded by great restaurants and bars (and the pier). Lovely room and the absolute best breakfast we have had during our stay in Toscana. Would recommend in a heartbeat!

The people in the reception and in the restaurant were very friendly. They let us leave the luggage in a separate room. The swimming pool area. The location. The parking. Breakfast ok.

A very pretty island but if you travel on the ferry for a day trip make sure you check the weather report because we got stuck there overnight which was stressful. The Ferry company had no website and the phone number was engaged all of the time. The information was non-existent and staff were at times rude and not helpful. Were given false information and told the next ferry was at 3pm. We had to cancel the accommodation we had paid for and book another night in Piombino. We were having lunch and saw the ship's funnel emitting smoke. We had to run for 1 km to get on the ferry with no warning.

The historic centre was beautiful with great views; the port area very scenic & has great views too! We went for a week of hiking around th island only so we have no idea about beaches, but there were many nice bays & beaches to explore for another trip there.

Nice little town, good attractions.
Nice little town, good attractions. Napoleon's home is closed on Tuesday. Great shops, nice little restaurants. Parking is a bit hard to find, take change with you instead of paper money for the meters. Beautiful views from almost everywhere. It was easy to get in and out on the ferry in this, the main port.

Portoferraio is a bustling historical town with a lovely harbour where you can just sit and watch the magnificient boats and yachts from the front line cafes. We were very surprised that it is such a lovely spot even though it is a busy Ferry Port. The water quality in the vacinity is also surprisingly excellent. All in all We would definitely recommend the whole vacinity around Portoferraio. It was our fifth time on Elba and it always surprises us with another gem. It is really a wonderful island to visit:)

A lively place buzzing in the evenings.
A lively place buzzing in the evenings. Food was not very good, but a short trip outside of Portoferaio gave you plenty of good restaurants to choose from, the island is small so it is easy to get around the whole island. We recommend a boat trip, so many lovely places to swim that are not accessable from the road.

We all loved our stay in this beautiful hotel. It is quite simple and basic but very comfortable and has everything you need. The public spaces and landscaping is gorgeous and really well maintained. The rooms are big, clean and although basic they are comfortable. Breakfast is really good with a big selection and served under olive trees.
The pool area is huge, lots of beds and well managed. Although you have to wear a swim hat, after you get used to this it isn't a problem. I would stay here again for sure, a really unique find.
The area is paradise birds singing 24/7 beautiful lands ape and views. Found a beach and small harbour just up the right and to the right of the hotel signs to Hotel Mare. Beautiful views and amenities. People were friendly and welcoming. Sirwar Receptionist was so motivated in ensuring I got around without a car and advised on buses I could use so be prepared as it required some walking to reach bus stops but glad I done it!!
We loved the appartment style and interior, exactly as you can see in the pictures. Lovely host! Gaia was super helpful with everything especial as our ferry got cancelled. Located Very close to the ferry terminal in a quiet neighbourhood. If you are looking for a place in Portoferraio and a little home away from home - this is the place.
The location is superb. Really nice beaches at walking distance and also the town of Portoferraio that is always good.
Rooms and facilities looking really good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is super nice as you have an amazing view just in front of you, no better way to start the day.
