Great base to visit Ostuni, Alberobello and Polignano,...
Great base to visit Ostuni, Alberobello and Polignano, easily accessed from the train station (we didn’t have a car). There is a dedicated bus to Alberobello that goes from near the train station a few times a day. We didn’t go to the town beach as the local one was being renovated so had to go further afield to the next two bays. The furthest one away was nicer and had shade from trees and easier access into the sea and to the beach. More expensive than other places we have been to eat out but overall great stay. The tiramisu gelato was to die for if you turn left after via Porto away from the main square and continue past the Scottish bar and look for it on the right. Monopoli was very enjoyable, although rather busy. It was cheap compared to other parts of Italy. Very easy on the train from Brindisi where we flew into, and very easy to get to other towns on the train. Unfortunately the main beach in the town is currently closed off. Lovely restaurants and roof top terraces to enjoy the views. Go to Bella Blu and try the ice cream with extra virgin olive oil - it's a real eye opener! Monopoli is a vibrant Italian city with an amazing historic old town, which is much less touristy then Polignano a Mare, yet just as pretty! It's just a short train ride from the Bari airport, and is the perfect city for a 3-4 days long holiday. Has a couple of sandy beaches if you'd be travelling with kids and also a bunch of great local restaurants. Monopoli is a beautiful little town, and we spent most of our time in the old town, which is absolutely charming. I honestly wish I had stayed there longer – everything was lovely. That said, it's definitely much more expensive compared to Bari. This is the only thing I didn’t like – prices felt unjustifiably high for almost everything, especially considering that most tourists come from Bari and are familiar with the usual costs of food and services. Another small downside is that I couldn’t find a large grocery store near the old town – and I don’t think there is one in the town at all, at least I wasn’t able to find it.Guest review byKirilovaBulgaria

The parking nearby Carrefour was fine and relatively easy to find parking spots, granted that I went in October.
