Hotel San Lino is set within the medieval walls of Volterra, a 5-minute walk from Piazza dei Priori. It offers a garden with outdoor swimming pool and panoramic sun terrace.

Parking in the garage was easy and right next to the hotel entrance. The hotel is in the ZTL area, but your car plate number is exempt from the police camera system after you check in at the reception.
Staff was very kind :-)

Everything! This was definitely the cleanest room and bathroom we’ve ever had in any hotel :)
Luca is super knowledgeable and shares so much information you’re sure to have a great stay! The breakfast is so great! The offering is huge and the cakes are homemade which are so delicious - we will be back and this is not a hotel to miss - thank you :)

The staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was located just inside the city walls and a perfect location for exploring Volterra. The room was ideal, clean, a very comfy bed and good shower. The breakfast buffet was nice with a reasonable variety of options.

Nice place not far from Volterra if you have a car.
Situated in Volterra, Albergo Diffuso Volterra provides free WiFi throughout the property. The property is non-smoking and is located 41 km from Acqua Village.
Beautiful, but truly 4 roads to roam. Unless it’s operationally better, I wouldn’t sleep there. Perhaps because of the time of year (end Jan), but we struggled to find an open place for dinner even. Everything was quite at night, and much better by day but we had already seen most of the town by then.

Beautiful Medieval town with excellent restaurants and shops. The Etruscan and Roman museum and ruins are fabulous. Don’t miss the MWF walking tour of the town. One of the most interesting, and least crowded and touristy, towns in Tuscany.

Volterra was a wonderful city to visit--lots of historical sites and museums, well-kept central area, and many great shops and restaurants to choose from. My major disappointment though was that many of the historical sites, such as the Etruscan Acropolis and the Roman Theatre and the Palazzo dei Priori were extremely underwhelming. The outside exhibits were closed off, apparently for repairs but it didn't look like they were ever going to get it fixed, so you barely got to see the monuments (and the price, without the Volterra Card, is still very, very high). Some of the museums had very limited exhibits and rooms, especially Palazzo dei Priori and the Alabaster Museum (do NOT waste your money on this). There is great potential, but sadly, only the Etruscan Museum and Palazzo Viti met my expectations for historical value. The alabaster shops and craft goods were abundant though and spectacular!

I spent three days in Volterra and thoroughly enjoyed everything (museums, views, good food, and good wine), but due to work obligations, I had to limit the things I could visit. Volterra has so much to offer; I encourage everyone to visit it with respect and admiration.

Absolutely beautiful stay in the villa. The views are amazing the pool and facilities brilliant. Louisa was very helpful. Clean, tidy, big, spacious and the outdoor area and pool was amazing. There was 4 couples all had own bathrooms. We had the Nonnas in to cook us an Italien pasta feast on a first night and the food was beautiful. Best stay of our 8 week Europe journey from Australia.
The hotel is in the historic centre of Volterra, close by to many amazing local restaurants (I personally highly recommend La Vecchia Lira). The hotel personnel was very helpful in every respect - from providing an iron to suggesting the best sightseeing spots in the town. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a great view.
Very spacious property.
We appreciated having a kitchen and laundry. The pool is lovely to cool down in July. Villamagna is a small town nearby with a friendly grocer and a great bar for coffees.
The purpose of our stay was Andrea Bocelli’s concert in Lajatico, but we also enjoyed Volterra and San Gimignano while here.
Very comfortable bed. Great location if driving as you don’t have to navigate the very tricky and complex narrow/steep streets of old Volterra. Very helpful staff and we appreciated being able to leave our car parked at the hotel after checkout.
fantastic hotel in the heart of Volterra, very pleasant stay in this historic hotel, breakfast was one of the best I have seen for quality and variety, well worth a visit to this hotel
