Catania is nice city for people who like cultural and night life. There are many museums, opera theatre, also lots of attractions for young people, like extraordinary bars with live music and night clubs in the historical buildings.

I would recommend that Catania should not detain 'SY' for long, but rather move 'SY' around the island. For example, we did not make it to Palermo - it was a pity to spend so much time on the road.

Lovely small city, and a college town so it has a relevant vibe to it. Very nice restaurants in addition to the regular tourist sites. Great food overall. I’d recommend Scirocco for authentic Catanian “street food,” as well as the fish market and DEFINITELY a St. Agatha pastry and some arancine!!). I’d recommend also visiting Ortigia/Siracusa, as the Greek influence is quite impressive—particularly the main cathedral.

City appeared rather grubby and pavements and roads were not in great condition. However, people were friendly and helpful and it’s a great location for exploring the area like Taormina, Etna and Syracuse easy to get around and great bus and train services. Lots of lovely restaurants

Is good to visit 1 day, preferable at night.
Communication was hard, not that friendly people.
Public transport is not frequently and always late.
We got the bus to the beach, but on the way back we had to wait for an hour for the next bus, and it didn't even stop.
We tried to find a taxi, but people said they didn't have a number. Then they call an Uber and ask for 30 euros for a 10-minute drive.
The city is a bit run-down and there's not much to see.
I'd say Taormina is about an hour away by train, or there's a small town nearby.

If you are into architecture, this is the place for you.
If you are into architecture, this is the place for you. The Baroque style was amazing. It is a very walkable place and the Roman Theatre was well preserved. The churches are worth visiting and the variety of eateries was good as well.

Very typical business style like hotel but also perfect for when you land late at night at Airport and don't want to travel far to start your Sicily Trip as we did. Nice bar / restaurant still available for a late night (at least late for us Northern Europeans :-) dinner. Nice breakfast. We were there early spring, so the pool was still closed and the beach (across the street) to cold.
Beautiful property within an old family Manor House, with an lemon and orange tree orchard. We had a great welcome from the staff with their own produced wine and olive oil. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. The hotel is only a short ride from Catania and the airport, but feels a world away. Good links to the motorway for visiting other towns.
Hotel is conveniently located neat Catania airport which is why we chose it. Has a big pool and access to ocean. We travelled in the off season so it was pretty quiet. The hotel is older but was very clean and neat. The rooms were as expected, clean and good size. Not super luxurious or fantastic but vert good overall.
It is a nice hotel with friendly staff and good facilities. Its location to the centre of Catania and the airport is very good. At breakfast there was plenty of choice, have stayed here before and would stay again .
