The location of this hotel is fantastic, but the rooms are incredibly unimpressive. The staff is very polite, kind, and helpful. If you are expecting to have valet parking or easy parking please think again. The streets are very narrow and we were lucky to get a spot in front. The rooms are below the ground floor so the windows face a wall. We only used this room for sleeping so it was fine for a quick overnight.
Located at Taormina Mare, the hotel offers an enchanting view over the Bay of Naxos and Cape Taormina; a magnificent panorama that can be admired from each of the guestrooms and from the restaurant.

The room with the view and bathtub was fantastic. The staff were wonderful and we enjoyed our stay very much. Perfect location, the only thing is the breakfast was additional cost, so we didn’t do it. But everything else including the in house parking was wonderful.

What we loved most was Angelo!!!! The grounds were beautiful. The location a short walk along the road to the cable car to town, the sitting areas throughout lovely, great to have beach access down the stairs with a restaurant right there. The BEST part of this establishment with Angelo, who definitely made everyone's stay. He greets you in the morning with a smile. Is genuinely interested in hearing about your day. Goes above and beyond and accommodates any dietary restrictions. You can't help but to be happy around someone with such a love for life. All of his food is fresh and delicious, and the ambiance of him singing to his amazing playlist of music in the kitchen can't help but put a smile on your face. Every day, we couldn't wait to get back to tell him about what we did over an amazing and well priced dinner. He makes it feel like you're family.
Side note: I REALLY appreciated how well the air conditioning worked in the room and that there was an iron/ironing board, safe and an extra blanket and pillow. We stayed at a 4 star resort on this trip that didn't have those things in the room and this was a nice way to end of 3 week long trip! Can't wait to come back and see Angelo!!

As you admire crystal-clear turquoise seas from a Taormina piazza drenched with vibrant pink blossoms, you might have to pinch yourself. The amazing location of this picturesque town is its crowning glory.
But wait, there's more. Surrounded by trees just below the main town, the largely intact Greek Theater has amazing views across the stage towards Mount Etna fuming away in the distance. Great summer performances are still held here, and several of the town’s bars feature live music.

The city is way too crowded, and while it is nice, it is not that nice either. Most shops and restaurants feel like tourist traps. The beaches are dirty and almost completely privatized. Isola Bella was such a disappointment; it felt like a food court. Honestly, I think over-tourism has already destroyed the vibe Taormina maybe had before.

Sadly Taormina has become another charming city to succomb to mass tourism. The main street has mostly shops you will find anwhere in the world (to a few exceptions) and too many restaurants. Shopping is not our priority when visiting cities or villages. You can do that at your local mall or even on line. Regretfully, we can't recommend staying at Taormina. Though we had a good time, it has been overhyped. It's OK for a one day trip...maybe... There are many more other places in Sicily which offer a better cultural experience.

Taormina is a lovely city with lots to see and easy access to Etna and other local sites.
The city is built on a hill and a level of fitness is required to get around on foot, lots of steps up the hills. Local bus runs regularly to help you get around.
Etna was a great trip including a wine tour and visit to caves.

Beautiful little town.
Beautiful little town. I was there to attend a language school (Babilonia), so was there for 8 nights. The restaurants are great. Town is super busy though. Was there in early May. Was told it gets much busier for summer. I would definitely return!

We did 2 nights in Taormina, 3 or 4 would have been better. The main street at night is so busy even at the beginning of June, in high season it would be too much. It wasnt my favourite place in Sicily but it is worth a visit.

There is breathtaking scenery everywhere you look. I wish we had of stayed longer, 2 days is not enough.
My only negative comment is the shops really cater for tourists and are expensive. Some original stores and options would have been nice to see.

Location was amazing - right next to the beach and away from the very busy centre of Taormina. Highly recommend as it is bliss to wake up on the beach, away from the crowds, and have a coffee and a swim before taking the funicular (a 2 minute walk from the apartment) to the centre of Taormina. I would suggest taking the funicular up and walking to the very top Chiesa Madonna della Rocca, and of course to Teatro Greco. The apartment owner, Massimo, is hugely helpful if you need anything (eg he booked an airport transfer for us).
Great facilities with all the luxuries you'd expect from a 5 star location. Breakfast had all the conceivable food options available.
Excellent rocky beach with amazing clear water, and bungalows are all within 50 meters of it. Taormina is a lovely town, probably best in all of Sicily. Note that it takes at least half an hour to get there, as you have to take either the cable car or the bus.
The location of the hotel is perfect and right in the centre of things in Taormina. The hotel has a authentic Sicilian charm with beautiful sea views from the balcony. But what made this place was the host and how helpful and advised us on excursions, restaurants and getting around. We would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to visit Taormina.
Fabulous 1970s style hotel. The photographs didn’t do it justice. Great location - steps away from the centre of Taormina. Lovely pool area and views of Etna. Good breakfast. I had a suite and it was huge and felt a bit classy!
