Your 20 m2 spacious room is situated on the 2nd floor of our house including a king-size bed, your own private bathroom, a fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee machine and safe which fits a laptop. Wifi is free and strong. There is a flatscreen TV with access to our streaming services, and a small table with two chairs. You can request using our iron if necessary. We do not have an elevator in our house, so there are two flights of stairs to go up (and down), which might be a challenge for the less able bodied.

Gein is in the South East of Amsterdam and known for its mix of cultures. It is also the greenest neighbourhood of all Amsterdam and if you like to take a stroll in nature, within 2 minutes from our home you can enter a nature reserve where wild cow graze, birds chirp and frogs croak. And people walk their dog or go for a jog. A little further, about 10 minutes walk, you get to the Gaasperplas. A lake where people walk around all year long and love to swim and barbecue in the summer. Your groceries you can do at Jumbo, a few minutes walk, next to the metrostation Gein. There are some nice restaurants in the Reigersbos area, 10 minutes walk or one stop by metro. Metro 54 takes you in about 25 minutes to the city centre of Amsterdam and the last metro back leaves from central station a little after midnight. It takes 7 minutes with metro 54 or 50 to get to Amsterdam Arena, better known as the Bijlmer, where you can find a big shopping area, with quite a few take-away restaurants. You can really see the different cultures come together here. Many music-loving visitors are going to a concert in the Arena, Ziggo Dome or AFAS Live. The biggest artists perform here, when their tour hits The Netherlands. There is also a 14-hall cinema, don't worry about the language, in the Netherlands we normally do not dub the films, but use subtitles (except some kids movies, they moslty are shown both in original version (OV) and dubbed). Tickets for train and multiple day tickets for domestic public transport (tram, metro, bus) can be bought at the airport or at the trainstations in the machines.
