Featuring amazing views of Mt Ruapehu, 2 hot tubs and a restaurant with a large deck area, Kings Ohakune is 2 minutes’ walk from Ohakune Station and 3 minutes' walk from the start of the Ohakune Mountain Road. Situated right on the doorstep of the World Heritage site of Tongariro National Park, Kings Ohakune is a suitable base for guests wanting to enjoy the fantastic outdoor activities that the region offers including skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, kayaking and hiking. The property can assist with booking shuttles for the popular Tongariro Crossing and can organise packed lunches if required. All rooms have a private bathroom and also include heating, a TV, tea/coffee facilities and use of other facilities such as the hot tubs, a laundry machine and a drying room/lockable storage room suitable for mountain bikes. Kings Ohakune was established in 1913 and the restaurant decor plays homage to the history of the building and the town. The restaurant in March, April and May is open Wednesdays-Sunday and the menu changes seasonally and features local produce. The on-site bar offers a range of craft beers, including Ruapehu Brewing Company’s own revolving tap. Coffee is available at cafes just around the corner from the property.
