A lovely compact village with friendly residents and local cafes and restaurants. Close enough for short or long walks to the outer edges of the village and the mountainous areas. Great 'red pavement' for exercising with measured distances. Fabulous pool for swimming lengths and spa pool for exercise. Daily buses to Faro. Great supermarkets for home cooking. Brilliant place to visit and stay.

Stayed for 3 nights to attend an expat party.
Stayed for 3 nights to attend an expat party. Lovely atmosphere, laid back and friendly. Especially loved the cafe on the square and the Rock and Wine Bar. Nice Piri piri chicken at Louis'. The locals love it so you need to go early to get a table without queuing later in the week. Sadly lots of derelict houses but some lovely traditional streets. Shame the outdoor lido pool was closed. Maybe too early in the season. A couple of supermarkets and a good local food market. Buses to Faro but not sure how often. We went to an Indian restaurant near Louis' chicken place but service was incredibly slow and food was mediocre.

Sao Bras is a beautiful, little market city which is located in the hills of the Algarve, At the same time it is not too far from the beaches, if you have a car. The town has all amenities like several supermarkets, nice shops, very good restaurants and pharmacies/doctors. People are very friendly there. Perfect for families or people who like to spend time outdoors.

Sao Bras is a quiet small town, no tourists (al least in February), but all amenities (supermarkets, pharmacy, restaurants), easy to park a car for free. The hotel is in a rural area in 5 min from Sao Bras de Alportel. The nature is beautiful, nice place for a walk. You will definitely need a car to get to the hotel. It’s easy to find with Google maps.
Note: the restaurants are closed on Monday, but you can find pizzeria or a supermarket. The other days some restaurants are open for dinner only from 19.00, for lunch from 12.00 till 14.00. It’s about half an hour to drive to the beach.

Typical Portuguese old town with narrow streets and plenty of charm. Has a nice center square with a few restaurants where you can chill with an espresso or a nice glass of wine and good conversation.
Not easy to get around with a car in the old section, but you can find parking near by.

Eveything! It is an excelent place, lovely views, quite place to be relaxed and enjoy algarve in a family way instead of croweded places. It is a bit challenging to arrive, but google knows how to get there easily. Nice swimming pool very clean and big. Marvellous restaurant! Wonderful picanha and wonderful caipirinha!!! People at the hotel and restaurant are so so nice and caring!
Last but not least, bedrooms were marvelous: clean, confortable and spacious. With natural light.
We really enjoyed and recommend.
Just a basic hotel room at a great price. The town is small and quaint but the great thing is that its roughly 35 K from Tavira and the same for Albufeirio and Faro. So we drove into the beach spent the day in the crazy streets of the Algarve. Then you can go back to a quiet hotel at a great price. The breakfast was included and it was again basic but hardy and good. The owners and staff were wonderful and very helpful. The parking was included in the price. We loved it.
Great place. Clean, new, organised, calm, beautiful.
The hotel is right in the centre, near cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, banks.
The room is clean, has a good size, comfortable bed, side tables, table and chair if you need to use your laptop (wifi included), air conditioning. The bathroom is clean and has good size.
There is a kitchen with all you may need, cups, plates, coffee, tea, kettle, microwave, table and chairs, also clean.
Located almost in the center of town , it was a great base for exploring the area. Although no car park there is plenty of parking in the nearby streets. There is no breakfast provided but there are a couple of nice cafés nearby, also the hotel provides a mini kitchen which has a fridge and kettle with tea and coffee. But cooking is not allowed. The welcome from the owner was lovely. But you have to phone him first.
Re a
The staff and owner at this location were very friendly and helpful .Grace who covered the late reception duties engaged with us often which added to our stay. The hotel whilst difficult to get to without a car provided excellent views from our room of the surrounding valley. The food was adequate. Our room was ok but we suffered a lot of noise from occupants in the adjoing room the first weekend.
Our stay at the hotel was pleasant. The rooms were big enough, the bathroom was big and we had a minifridge and a kettle in the room. Shower and water pressure were great. We were on the third floor, but there are elevators to get there without any hassle.
Breakfast was exceptional. A lot of things to choose from, even baked beans and ham & eggs.
Owners were very accommodating to our needs as we had a late flight and I was travelling alone with two small children. The breakfast was as lovely as the view. A very peaceful location yet only 10 minutes away from São Brás de Alportel where we enjoyed a lovely dinner (recommended by the hosts). Very clean and great amenities.
The room was very clean, the air conditioning was efficient. The shower had both shower gel and shampoo available, which is not always the case in some hotels. The hotel was adjacent to a central square which was lively at night and made our brief stay enjoyable. We had to leave early so weren’t able to stay for breakfast.
I arrived on a Sunday and was surprised to find the locals all go there for Sunday supper because it is such good food. Everyone but the guests were gone before evening and the hotel settled into a quiet night. Wonderful local flavor, out of town with local hiking trails going off into the hills.
Very nice place, very quiet and well set up
It's ideal to work or to relax and the pool is very nice
The surroundings are great, and it's ideal for walks or bicycle trips in the middle of nowhere, yet a few km from restaurants and shops.
The breakfast is what you get in a 5* hotel.
Far exceeded expectations. Staff brilliant, very helpful. They dealt with car issue with friendliness and ease.
Provided a good gluten free breakfast as requested. Cannot praise this hotel for all its aspects. Will be back.
Excellent place o rest and relax, very friendly staff and very welcoming. Hotel is equipped to host people with disabilities and is very accommodating.
