I stayed in this hotel in Bucharest for work and it was truly a wonderful experience. The lobby is huge, decorated with colorful and classic furnishings that surprisingly go very well together. The hotel offers excellent services: there's a bar, a restaurant, a fully equipped gym that I used and really appreciated, and a spa area (which I didn’t get the chance to try). The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, with plenty of thoughtful amenities—including a lovely selection of chocolates waiting for me at check-in. The bathroom was clean and came with a complimentary set of toiletries worthy of a 5-star hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the breakfast was fantastic—especially the fresh juices and the wide variety of options available. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

FAQs about hotels in Bucharest

Where Modern Meets Old

A fascinating mix of old and new, Bucharest is one of those cities where you can find a futuristic structure of glass and steel next to an old church, separated by a Communist-style massive edifice. Not overwhelmed by its dark past, the city is now turning its optimistic face towards the West.

Undergoing constant modernisation processes, the city continually changes and new modern structures pop up in the city centre and beyond. Great examples are the stunning Basarab Bridge, Europe’s widest cable-stayed bridge, and the City Gate Towers.

Whilst admiring the new, don’t miss out on the old classics, like the Parliament Palace, the world’s second largest building, with over 3100 rooms and impressive marble interiors covering 330,000 m². Make sure you admire the view from Nicolae Ceauşescu's balcony!

To fully appreciate the city’s long history, from Vlad the Impaler (aka Dracula) to the ’89 revolution, the city offers free guided walking tours, giving you a great opportunity to discover all the city’s secrets. And spot all the best shopping venues!

Before you land at Bucharest Airport, just 18 km from the city centre, make sure you check what Booking.com has to offer: from hotels to apartments, just a few clicks away!

Rather ugly city, filled to the brim with cars and not much to see. Things are expensive for Romanian standards. There lots going on though so at least there's that. No shortage of cafes and bars.

DO NOT travel via the yellow taxis, you’ll get scammed and lose money. Some even had fake metres and the advertised fee per KM is a lie. Use Uber or bolt. Lots of traffic at all times so always leave extra time for journeys. Highly recommend doing a free walking tour on one of the first days so you can find hidden gems, learn about the history and local hot spots. Although busy, the therme spa was absolutely amazing with something for everyone to enjoy; food and drinks were pricey but that’s to be expected. Couldn’t locate anywhere to refill our water bottles. People left towels on sun beds all day even if they didn’t use them! For £30 all day and 3 areas including you can’t complain too much! We also loved the pub crawl, getting to see the nightlife. I highly recommend the weekday lunch menu at Caru’ de Bere (first ever pub built) for delicious local food at a good price; they won’t offer you the lunch menu, you have to ask (it’s a hidden secret).

Bucharest is a fantastic city, with loads to see and do. Some highlights for us included many museums (especially natural history), beautiful parks, day trip to Transylvania (Bran, Peles, Brasov), a walking tour and many delicious restaurants - many of which had excellent vegan options. Our favourite was Level Up vegan restaurant where we tried traditional Romanian food with a veggie twist.

Therme Spa visit great, can do Bucharest city sightseeing area in half day, but lots of places to eat. Friendly people. Low cost food and drink, places we went were excellent quality food too. Recommend Reine Brasserie, amazing food and service. Uber very quick, but traffic and driving abit crazy in city.

I stayed in Bucharest for a week.

I stayed in Bucharest for a week. It is nice in general but not like other western european cities ie Vienna, Rome, Paris. If you have seen all others, yes it might be an interesting place to visit. It is like a mix of east and west, a little chaotic. Endless traffic, mostly annoying. Food is OK, scenes not very good. At night gets a bit creepy in general.

The hotel is very nice and right in the city centre. The breakfast is excellent and the staff at the breakfast was amazing even when it was very busy. The swimming-pool is beautiful. The coffee in the room is amazing (Julius Meinl). I loved the shower products scent (the White Company). I will definitely go back when in Bucharest.
