Located in the city center on historical Calea Victoriei Street, Leonardo Hotel Bucharest City Center offers free WiFi and wired internet in all rooms.

The hotel was approximately a 15minutes drive from the airport. We were able to check in early (we had asked for this prior to the trip). We had booked a triple room, it was so spacious and the bigger bed was so comfortable. There was a good choice of food at breakfast, and at a reasonable cost (we hadn't included this in the cost of the booking).

FAQs about hotels in Bucharest

Where Modern Meets Old

A fascinating mix of old and new, Bucharest is one of those cities where you can find a futuristic structure of glass and steel next to an old church, separated by a Communist-style massive edifice. Not overwhelmed by its dark past, the city is now turning its optimistic face towards the West.

Undergoing constant modernization, the city continually changes and new modern structures pop up in the city center and beyond. Great examples are the stunning Basarab Bridge, Europe’s widest cable bridge, and the City Gate Towers.

While admiring the new, don’t miss out on the old classics, like the Parliament Palace, the world’s second largest building, with over 3100 rooms and impressive marble interiors covering 81.5 acres. Make sure you check out the view from Nicolae Ceauşescu's balcony!

To fully appreciate the city’s long history, from Vlad the Impaler (aka Dracula) to the ’89 revolution, the city offers free guided walking tours, giving you a great opportunity to discover all the city’s secrets. And spot all the best shopping venues!

Before you land at Bucharest Airport, just 11 miles from the city center, make sure you check what Booking.com has to offer: from hotels to apartments, just a few clicks away!

I stayed in Bucharest for a week.

I stayed in Bucharest for a week. It is nice in general but not like other western european cities ie Vienna, Rome, Paris. If you have seen all others, yes it might be an interesting place to visit. It is like a mix of east and west, a little chaotic. Endless traffic, mostly annoying. Food is OK, scenes not very good. At night gets a bit creepy in general.

If you have to go by car, be wary of the many speeding and honking drivers you will face on the regular in the city. Parking is also very, very tight and finding a parking spot that is free is near impossible. Most things may not work on weekdays, even though it might say they do online. Traffic jams are a regular occurence, so the underground is the way to look around the city. People tend to speak and understand english, but sometimes come out a bit rude and looking down when talking with them (This might have been our experience only, though). The staff in restaurants/ hotels/ exhibisions are quite the contrary - very friendly and polite! Buildings have beautiful architecture and the venues have a lot of greenlife and shade.

This is a very charming city. My favorite is the Athenaeum. It would be nice to see an opera. This is a very suitable area for a person to wander around. There are many cafes and restaurants around. There is also a very beautiful bookstore where I bought my souvenirs. Many people will take pictures and shop, and they will even queue up to pay.

I stayed here for a two day visit to Bucharest. The hotel was a short walk from the airport bus stop and about a 20 minute walk to the old town. The room was very large and comfortable although a little dated. The bathroom was large and had a shower over the bath. This had good flow and plenty of hot water. The breakfast was quite varied although there were no fresh fruit juices - only bottled "drinks". This was a good base for a short break and was good value for money.

Great location in center, near old town and walking distance to Piata Unirii, where are beautiful fountains. Did go in very early morning to Transilvania trip and it was so comfortable to walk from apartement 2 minutes to meeting point, next to Grand Hotel Bucharest. Loved the view from the balcony to the city. Very nice and friendly communication with owner through Whatsapp. Everything needed was in apartement, so did feel really good there. Thank you :)

The hotel is very nice and right in the city centre. The breakfast is excellent and the staff at the breakfast was amazing even when it was very busy. The swimming-pool is beautiful. The coffee in the room is amazing (Julius Meinl). I loved the shower products scent (the White Company). I will definitely go back when in Bucharest.

Excellent location smack bang in the centre of Bucharest, 100m from the old town on Calea Victoriei. It is not really an apartment as the kitchen is just a bench with a microwave. It is a hotel room, like a 4 star hotel but excellent value for money, although this might have been because of the time of year (Nov).
