Istanbul is good city but peoples are scammers, Government have to work specially on Taxi Drivers, Clubs, and some restaurants, around 90% are scammers. They like to scam Tourists. Now I got a good learning process, they can’t scam me anymore but for new Tourists I really sorry if they don’t know anything. Everything in 2025 is more expensive than in the past years: food, city objectives - high to the sky (from 30€ to 50€ / objective). The city center is beautiful and worth 3 days, not more. The streets are clean, public transport very good, fast and relatively cheap. Good food. People are kind in stores and on the street (too bad that they do not speak foreign languages). But in the open markets (spice bazaar) not so much. It is a very big city. It took a long time to get to the airport because of an accident along the way slowed traffic. It takes a long time and long walks in the Istanbul airport. Istanbul is surely one of the most beautiful cities on earth. Unfortunately a lot of other people have realised this too, so the principal sights (Topkapi; Haghia Sophia) can be very overcrowded. That said, think carefully before splashing out on "skip the line" tickets. There are lines, but we were not convinced that skipping them meant our waiting was any shorter. In any event there are so many wonderful places with no queues (Rustem Pasha; Suleymanyi Mosque; Kariye Mosque; the Archaeological Museum etc) that it doesn't matter.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom
