For the price, the room was fine, if basic. The curtains didn't close properly, letting light in, a problem for light sleepers. We requested help in fixing it, and the maintenance person who came to the room simply shrugged their shoulders and said there was nothing to be done. We had missed a lfight and so were hungry, angry and tired. The food offerings for non-meat eaters were limited, and we ordered a sandwich which arrived totally not as described in the menu, missing two ingredients and different to how we imagined. We couldn't easily work out how to use the shower, and had to ask for help from the team to understand how to get the water to flow. Overall, extremely convenient for flights, as it's five mins walk from arrivals and departures, but we only experienced a minimal level of service, which also seemed indifferent. The receptionist was on a phone call during our check-in, and the room needed some attention. Having said that, we made a late, emergency booking, and they accommodated us, for which we are grateful.

The staff very friendly and helpful, the possibility to stay on the roof and chat happily. The good breakfast and the cute and adorable dog Deniz. The location is well connected but the shops and restaurants nearby are quite expensive, you should go to the center to find better options

Beautiful vibrant city full of life and amazing sites to visit, a reliable and very cheap public transport system, although the city is huge it is easily accessible with the various trams and ferries. Get an Istanbul card as soon as you arrive to make getting about easier.
Favourite Mosque was The Suleymaniye, loved Balat just a few tram stops away for a visit.
Just so much to see and do will be back for sure.

Istanbul is one of those rare cities that leaves a lasting impression on your soul. From the moment I arrived, I was swept up in its vibrant energy, stunning architecture, and rich cultural tapestry. Straddling both Europe and Asia, Istanbul is a place where ancient history and modern life blend seamlessly.
Walking through the streets of Sultanahmet feels like stepping back in time. The awe-inspiring Hagia Sophia and the majestic Blue Mosque are more than landmarks—they’re living stories carved in stone. Just a short stroll away, the Grand Bazaar offers a feast for the senses with its colorful textiles, handmade crafts, and the warm hum of local life.
The Bosphorus cruise was another highlight—watching the sun set over the city’s skyline, with the call to prayer echoing in the distance, was simply magical. Istanbul at night glows with a romantic, mysterious charm.
But what truly makes this city special is its people. Warm, welcoming, and proud of their heritage, every encounter felt genuine. Whether sipping Turkish tea with a shop owner or enjoying

Beautiful historical sites which must not be missed.
Beautiful historical sites which must not be missed. Everyone with a passion for history MUST visit Istanbul at least once. The Hagia Sofia,The Blue Mosgue, Domabatche Palace and Topkapi Palace are some of the world’s greatest buildings. The bazaars are fun but mainly for tourists. The adjoining streets are truly authentic Turkey and are an essential part of any visit to Istanbul.

Istanbul is, obviously, a must-visit city of world importance. I last visited over 30 years peviously and it was sad to see this historically significant place reduced to little more than a haven for tourists. All of the important sites are there but now hordes of visitors queue to be ripped off by exhorbitant entrance fees. The quaint family restaurants have been replaced by international fast food establishments serving their so-called traditional' dishes. Inded, we found more 'Turkish' shops markets and restaurants in Taksim than in Sultanhamet.

It is affordable for one of the world's great cities with a large number of interesting tourist sites. A ticket which gives entry to multiple tourist sites is good value. It feels safe, the people are friendly and helpful and public transport is convenient and cheap. Restaurants are everywhere, reasonably priced but focused predominantly on Turkish cuisine. The metro from the airport is a bit less convienient than a taxi but faster, safer and much, much, cheaper.

Lots to see!
Lots to see! We visited the Grand Bazaar and took a boat trip on the Bosphorus. Trams are excellent value but crowded and very hot.
I enjoyed haggling over prices in the bazaar but be careful as you can be caught out if you don't remember the correct exchange rate.
Definitely the best value for food are the street vendors and where the locals eat. You will pay a lot more in the tourist locations and restaurants.

We were passing through Istanbul, so we needed a hotel that was close to Taksim Square, Istiklal Street and also the Havaist point to the airport. Everything came together perfectly here. The location is very convenient.
The staff is polite and responsive, always in touch, also very understanding, they approached the fact that we arrived early. Despite the fact that check-in was later, they checked us in earlier, which was very convenient. Inside the small room there is enough space, air conditioning, kitchen and cooking utensils.
This property is one of the bestest hotels to stay at Istanbul. The best part of this hotel is the owner himeself Fuad. He was exceptional with his services and he cared for us way too much. Every other time he was present to cater us. The rooms are newly renovated and clean. Washrooms are superb clean and all the facilities are there which are in 5 star hotel. I had a great trip and thank you Taksim Larissa for making it a memorable one. My next visit will be sure this hotel again.
The hotel and staff were great; very good location and walking distance to Taksim Square, taksim metro, istiklal Street and all the restaurants, banks and anything one may need.
The hotel itself is a very cute and modern place, newly renovated with clean fittings and interiors. Burak at the reception was always there to help with taxi bookings, other info about the city and always prompt on WhatsApp. Must stay in Istanbul. We are coming here again soon!
Amazing view from the window. Possibly the best in Istanbul. Enough spacious room for two. Comfortable bed. Friendly and helpful staff who will always help with any questions. Delicious breakfast, but although you can make it more varied. The hotel is located in the downtown. All sights can be reached on foot. Galata bridge under the window. 10 minutes to the Galata Tower. 5 minutes to Galataport. 20 minutes to Sultanahmet.
Perfect location in downtown Istanbul close to many shops, excellent restaurants and historic buildings and squares like Galata tower, Pera Palace Hotel and Taksim square. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly particularly Majid, he helped us a lot always with a smile, even to change room because of noisy club next door.
