The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was more than adequate (quite large for just 2 people!), and the restaurant menu featured a variety of tasty meals. Concierges Paul and Patrick deserve special recognition for their willingness to go above and beyond with any request or inquiry.

Arusha is at the heart of the East African Safari.
Arusha is at the heart of the East African Safari. It is the tourist capital of Tanzania. Here, many tourists arrive from all corners of the world to climb the great Kilimanjaro Mountain or get on a safari across the land of the Masai, including Serengeti National Park.
The town is full of history, with great museums and cultural sites. It is the political base of East Africa as it hosts the headquarters of the East African Community which brings together 7 countries. The people are vibrant, the coastal influence in food and cuisine is evident, the bars are 'çhaotic' and the vibe is vibing.

I felt that Arusha was a very friendly and safe town to visit. Everyone was helpful and kind. I was traveling on my own, then with a safari group, and I had a wonderful experience in that town. We walked to local restaurants from our hostel, and I don't remember the names of them. I find that staying at the hostel was better than at a hotel because it is easier to meet other people which makes the visit much more enjoyable, especially when traveling alone. I highly recommend the Wakawaka hostel. It had a great price and breakfast and use of the kitchen were included! Also the owner is wonderful, and gives it a real homey welcoming touch.

Arusha is so gorgeous.
Arusha is so gorgeous. I honestly wish I had more time there.😍
The view of Mount Meru was such a delight, and the weather is a lot less hot compared to Dar. It rained at some point and ive never been happier all soaked and on a daladala.😂 It's also home to the largest art gallery in Africa, and that place is lovely. I didn't try many different foods but I had zege, ugali, and some local food at a place they called 'Miami Beach'😁 but maybe don't try find that on Google maps. You can ask a local for directions.
It's a really amazing place and so much to see so make sure you do better than I did and spend a few more days😎

It was my first time in Arusha.
It was my first time in Arusha. Most natives are friendly, but the clubbing scene is full of thieves. My phone was stolen by what appeared to be a ring of thieves at the nightclub I went to. (The Hub). The management wasn't helpful in trying to recover the phone either, and this was very disappointing.

I enjoyed my stay at the Banana Farm Eco-hostel.
I enjoyed my stay at the Banana Farm Eco-hostel. Arusha as a city was not my favorite place to visit, just more of a jumping off place for my safari and relaxation before I left on safari.
We did find a wonderful Indian restaurant, just a block or so from the Outpost Lodge, where we stayed immediately before and after a wonderful safari into the Serengeti National Park.

Staying at Mt Meru Hotel is like staying at a little resort in the middle of Arusha city. The garden surroundings are tantalising and the restaurants are fabulous. The breakfast is excellent with wide choice of bites. I wish they could offer Lattes for free at breakfast. No idea why they sell it separately. Latte is easy to make if you have a machine.
There are taxis right outside the hotel and so no need to worry about transport into town
Hence it is my choice of Hotel in Arusha
Best budget hotel in Arusha. Clean asthetic rooms, large bathroom and the ambience, everything was just perfect!!! Breakfast was also delicious and staffs were very friendly in nature and helpful.
Great city hotel in Arusha. A real oasis in midst of the hustle and bustle of an African city. Difficult to fault if it was based in any city in the world. We loved it!
