Rude woman at check in, could care less about my questions, said I should have booked direct with the hotel and not on line with booking .com. Said the hotel does not accept on line check in I filled out. Totally ignored my questions concerning dog pet with us, outside dog area filthy and high grass and trash 40 gallon receptacle full of smelly dog waste. Bag dispenser rusted out and laying on the ground, no bags for poop.

It was so very special to go back into history and remember those who fought and lived through such a truly tragic time for our country! To think about even family members fighting against one another. And to try to imagine how they got all the cannons and ammunition into place at that time. Truly unbelievable! Certainly men of valor!! God bless America!!!

So much preserved American history in this small town !
So much preserved American history in this small town ! The Native Americans, the European American families, the African Americans, the Civil War soldiers and leaders, our early government leaders and the Mississippi river are all very significant parts of the evolution of our culture and country. All of these elements playing large roles in such a small area ! It should not be missed as a reminder of how our country developed.

the Military park was amazing (and is a must for any Civil War buff) but something we hadn't expected was the Civil War Museum downtown - which we really enjoyed as well
The casino was good fun and my wife won!

The Battlefield National Park is worth the visit, if you get up early you can walk without any traffic and enjoy the monuments and scenery. Recommend the Key City Micro Brewery and Civil War Museum located downtown.

Loved the battlefield, The food in town was serviceable, but not great, and the people weren't exactly rude, but except for a few exceptions not friendly. However if you are interested in the American Civil War, it is a must see location.

I have always wanted to see Vicksburg after learning about it's importance during the Civil War. The Ken Burns documentary covered this major battle, and how it changed the course of the war. The military park was incredible and we spent the extra money to hire a tour guide who rode with us as we drove through the park. Absolutely worth every penny! We stayed at the historic Bazsinsky House just across from the beautiful courthouse, and within walking distance of downtown and the river. I wish I had done more research ahead of time about what all there was to see, and ended up not having time to explore more of the area. We had a delicious dinner at the 10 South Rooftop Bar and Grill that overlooks the river, and saw a beautiful sunset. Went to the Civil War Museum in Downtown and had a wonderful visit with the owner. His collection is incredible, and he is so knowledgeable.

Elizabeth and her mom were most hospitable. The B&B was a beautifully restored 1910 mansion and the location was central to all areas of Vicksburg. There was plenty of parking, the suite we had was huge, immaculate and inviting. Extremely comfortable bedding and the bathroom was fully stocked with amenities and very plush towels. Breakfast was served in the formal dining room and was delicious. Loved meeting all the guests and finding out about their travels. A very enjoyable stay worth repeating.
We had the best stay and experience, one not to be forgotten. The food was beautiful, the staff couldn't be lovelier, in particular, Dawn.
We had an amazing experience with other guests and staff for the Ghost Tour that was happening the night we stayed - Halloween.
The Inn itself is a stunning building, and they have the rooms so beautifully presented. Highly recommend staying with them. Perfect layover for our trip from Memphis to New Orleans.
I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels over the years, and this place had the best water pressure of any of them. It was actually a pleasure to shower. Good temperature and excellent water flow. Also, whatever towel laundry service they use is excellent…..white, soft, and absorbent. If you aren’t a frequent traveler, that won’t make sense to you, but for those of us who are, it’s important.
A good B&B in Vicksburg - a beautiful house, great location, and Andrew was an excellent host. Breakfast was very good and it was really interesting to hear the history of the house. Andrew also gave us a great recommendation for evening meal and was very knowledgeable about the history of Vicksburg
