Sitting high on a hill, the iconic sign is visible for miles around, while below the gold stars on Hollywood Boulevard immortalize celebrities of past and present. Be there on premiere night to see them grace the red carpet of Grauman’s Chinese Theater.
Over the hill is Universal Studios, with behind-the-scenes tours as well as rides. Next door are the Warner Brothers Studios, and Paramount Studios are closer to Downtown LA.
Whether you decide to live like a star in a luxury LA hotel or choose a cheap motel through Booking.com, it’s worth renting a car to get around this sprawling city and out to Los Angeles Airport (LAX).

There are too many grumpy people there, however, one bus-driver was very kind and went out of his way to help us with directions. Overall, I cannot understand why the US government does not provide a proper social security net for so many of its obviously poor and destitute people. There was so much smog in the air. You could smell the dirty air instantly. And the streets, buildings and land were dirty, gross and run down. I wouldn’t go outside to enjoy it leisurely. There’s so much to say about LA, definitely worth a visit. There are many epic places to see and experience, especially the weather, beaches, and the city itself. However, the homelessness and drug situation across the state is really bad.
