I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The staff were welcoming and attentive, the room was clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere made me feel at home. The luxurious The Fairway Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort is located on the Randpark Golf Course in Johannesburg.

The restaurants on site were good, we enjoyed lunch overlooking the golf course and a more upscale feeling dinner inside the Hotel restaurant. The spa on site was very nice.

    To walk in the steps of Gandhi, Mandela and Tutu was inspiring. Combine that with a visit to the Cradle of Humankind and it puts the current struggles (economic, inequality, corruption) into perspective. Adjusting my perspective is one of the reasons I travel so Jo'burg was a good stop.

    Arriving at the airport and taking an Uber to our hotel, at night, and traveling around during the day via Uber felt safe. Visiting the Walter Sisulu Botanical Garden was a great outdoor experience. It's a big city so travel times can be long.

    Sad the largest economy in Africa lavaged bt crime . Insecurity such a serious issue thugs can kidnap you for ransom aby time . Police do little if anything on reported crime. Even locals think it is a waste of time to report a crime to the police.. they will simply laugh at you..locals say

    Johannesburg is central to everything and they are in reach. It is only the venue (Black Brick One) which was a problem. Absolutely no service. When I pointed out a few flaws the person in charge blamed management and there was no management at site!

    Sadly Johannesburg is deteriorating. Traffic lights and street lights don't work. Water outages. Litter everywhere and when it rains, the drains appear to be blocked. However for shopping, restaurants and medicals it is good. From a safety point of view, make sure you stay in safe areas. Too many homeless people begging at traffic lights and approaching you in the street and outside shopping centres. Not a place for a holiday.
