Interesting stalls and shops with great specialty foods and gourmet items. Fun to try al the many different breads on offer. Lots of cool shops on the perimeter of the market. Also a lovely brunch on a raised patio in the middle of the market.

Went in March so cold.
Went in March so cold. Still lovely and enjoyable (must still see) but too cold & wet so no one was sitting in the beer gardens.
Go to the shoe shops that are not far and to Eataly that is also not far.

This has to be one of my favourite food markets in the world. It's not only fabulous for what you can get there, but also for chilling out, making friends, enjoying a beer under the trees. And it;s right in the town centre. Great at any time of the year, daytime of evening.

Take time to sit at an outdoor cafe, have a bowl of delicious soup, a crusty bread roll and a beer. The atmosphere is great here, and the market stalls offer a delight of choices of fresh food, craft items...you name it.

If you visit the eatery directly in the Biergarten, be prepared for very rude service. When queuing in the food line was instructed aggressively to hurry up. When I asked the owner to explain this behavior to a considerate and polite tourist who hadn’t eaten there before, reaction was one of ambivalence. Guess they have so much business, that manners are not a priority. Sad to see in a city with so much culture otherwise!

The location between Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt couldn't be better. Wonderful room overviewing the market. Very quiet and yet central to most sights. The staff is friendly and helpful and they rent bikes, which we loved.
Fantastic location down the street from the Viktualienmarkt, and just a few streets away from Marienplatz and the Hofbrauhaus. We chose a standard double room, but wish we had chosen another type, as our room was extremely small. Even though our room was quite small, the location more than made up for it. The manager at the front desk was very nice and extremely helpful.
The Coffee Machine is great, also the dinning area is roomy, clean and with a TV. The location is just what anyone visiting Munich would ask for, within a 15 minute walk to Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt and a few steps from the Sendlinger Tor transit station. Going in the opposite direction Glockenbachviertel is an amazing area to explore.
Great location near Viktualienmarkt, helpful staff and nice breakfast. The room was well air conditioned, and the room was recently updated with a comfortable bed.
The location is absolutely fantastic as you have easy ways to reach all the main sights in the city center. Frauenkirche, Viktualienmarkt, Rathaus and the Glockenspiel and of course you are in the middle of the main shopping area.
